Oh, and the best build is : 3/0/7, not 10/10/10 or 10/0/20
9/0/21 if you're using 30-men squads.

Erm...that isnt accurate. I've tried. Put 3 squads of inf. Of all 3 weapon types. You'll see some differences. Or try with each of the 3 weapon types. Different results each time. Then try the same thing with other chassises. Or mixed chassis. Or every chassis. Different results every time. So its up to personal preference and playing style.

There are variations, but these are not really that important for unit build choice. 1 beam range inf vs 1 beam armour inf and the armour wins. This is true, but no one suggest an armour build.

Assuming you have appropriate weapon choices (and we all aim to), then range will work.

Now as the advantage of range is in overwhelming an enemy for minimal losses, 9 0 21 is better. 8 0 22 is better still. I would probably suggest something in the region of 5 0 25 with a couple of squads of armour reinforcement for every dozen or so ships.

If it is a close run thing, then avoid the battle, or tip it with the help of allies, or spy, or nuke.

And at this age in players more inf is being built so if your going to build a range unit follow by an concussive armour

but if you use damage then that means you want it to go 2 rounds. and that means your gonna lose more troops. which costs more. range is still the best in my opinion. nothin but the 20/10 build for me :)
