Yep, I'm back with yet another one!

Item Splicing

Okay... so what is 'Item Splicing' and how does it work?
Right, Item Splicing is essentially an extension of the Fusion Core. Except instead of destroying items for fusion power, this actually combines both items together, *sharing their stats within the process.

This might need tweaking or even get scrapped entirely.

However, this isn't the only thing item splicing does. The beauty of this idea is that when you combine two items together, the sprite itself changes into an amalgamation of said items which ties in quite nicely with some of my creations. 8-)

I have made this basic visuallisation to illustrate what the UI could look like and an example of it in action.

Please note, if this were to get added then it would be extremely limited with only a few combinations possible in the early days since it's implementation, however over time more and more combinations would be made.

Also, maybe if the player choose the wrong items these items would became Junk?

You won't be able to combine everything with each other, it would be limited within reason. Also, think about how much time it would take to code that for every single item in the game...

If someone is actually making the combinations i would think this was a very good idea. Maybe if it takes a few tokens or preferably sm that would be nice.

The only problem i see is the amout of time it would take to make a good amount of combinations.

As much as I like this idea at first glance, the Mythical variable should still be considered. Combining two Mythicals would be quite overpowered.
I'd say that Mythical items cannot be spliced for two reasons.
1) OPAF OPAF OPAF!!!
2) It does make sense in the world of SuperMechs. If these items are truly mythical, how would one know how to deconstruct and reconstruct an item with no blueprints and no other information other than myths?

If you can't tell, I voted "Tweak."

Well, the whole sharing stats thing can be entirely scrapped or if not combine said stats, have the new items have their own stats which are similar to those of the ones used to combine with.

*I did not think of the addition of a deconstruct feature. I like this idea however it would involve putting in some more UI.

iagree it would go well the the sprites that xzyckon has made it would be so cool!

speaking of blueprints i think that you would need to acquire a specific blue print before combining the items (you could get them from item boxes)

So you mean like a new type of item that you can use as currency almost to combine items?

As long as those blueprints aren't behind a pay wall I'm down with that.
