Going to make this next suggestion about the actual game, because when I post about the community it went up in flames.
Grappling Hooks are fun, especially when they have two uses.
But why not give our wonder of pulling a power boost? Introducing, ground grappling.
Its simple, instead of immediately firing and grappling your opponent next to you, why not give the option to fire the grappling hook at the ground beneath our mechs feet?
This will have 3 differences compared to normal grappling, along with some similarities as well.
- Differences -
1. Grappling Hook will require twice the heat and energy it would to normally fire.
2. It will secure your mech to the tile you stand on when fired, for x amount of turns. Number "x" is obviously a variable, example 5 turns.
3. When the opponent uses a grappling hook in the traditional way, they will be pulled towards you, all effects of their grappling hook are as always (Heat gained and given, and/or Energy lost or drained).
- Similarities to Traditional Grappling -
1. To fire a grappling hook at the ground will still cost one action.
2. To fire a grappling hook at the ground will also still cost a use.
A mech that has been grappled to the ground cannot be pulled or knocked back until it's turns for effectiveness (Number "x") are 0.
