Hey, GameOver/NocturnalBunny here.

This is going to be my goodbye, no doubt I'll probably pop on every now and then however I no longer enjoy playing supermechs nearly as much as I use to. As I can no longer player BattleDawn anymore I rarely find myself popping my head around these days. I wish Tactisoft all the best and I'm still looking forward to the BD mobile version.

However before I go I would like to address my problems with SM (and I have many). Going to be long winded, I'm sorry however hopefully I can do something good on my way out. These will be listed in no peticular order.


Token purchases
Spoiler:
The only thing I'm going to pick up on here is the item box's. While I liked the idea, they are high cost low reward purchase. In the past I've spent £20-£30 in one go on these item box's. When mythicals initially came
out I found myself spending more. Now I know I don't have to spend money, but this is around 1/3 of my weekly wages back when I did urchase these box's. It was a lot to ask for and more often than not I found myself heavily disapointed with the outcome. After a while the mythicals I did recieve were duplicates of what I already had. In some cases I wouldn't get any mythicals after spending more than I would for a full game (will address concerns with mythicals at a later point). I understand every game needs a source of income, but I really don't agree with the way supermechs goes about doing it.


Shields
Spoiler:
For a long time now the majority of shields available are useless. I've said this before and was told they would get looked at, however there is still no change. They are far too heavy and use too much of your energy/heat. I don't see the need for shields in supermechs if you won't look at them so they're balanced enough for gameplay.


Fusion
Spoiler:
When fusion was initally launched there were limits to how much you could fuse your mech. The reason for this was so your mech wouldn't become too overpowered for the newer players to the game hitting the top ranks. Some time after, the ammount of fusion possible was increased countering their initial argument to begin with. On top of this it's almost impossible to reach unless you pay for fusion packs, which unfortunatly only a few people are able to creating a greater imbalance in the game. To top it off, fusion is then extended to drones. While it's only a small damage increase, 5 extra damage every drone shot is extremly high when you multiply it by how many times a drone is fired during a fight. Again, it's difficult to to get their fusion level up unless you're willing to pay heavily for the game.


Leaderboard rankings (and battle credits)
Spoiler:
It was a mistake to change the rankings so losses don't effect your results. By doing this you created a system where the best players are the ones that play the game often enough to collect a high amount of wins. This changes the whole game play (which I will mention in the next point). To me this rewards the wrong players. On top of this, it also supports the players that are able to purchase battle credits. For some this means grinding SM credits long enough to be able to purchase these once they've run out, just to be able to compete for the one week (unless you're willing to pay for them).


Psychical mechs
Spoiler:
Will dominate the top ranks with the current leader board system. Since losses aren't accounted for it's all about winning as much as possible. Physical mechs finish matches extremely quickly allowing players to collect wins at a much quicker rate. While their are energy/heat mechs that do make it to the top, they're always at a disadvantage (more so heat) to physical mechs as they have to play more to collect more wins. This is and has been my biggest problem with the rankings for a long time now.


Overall balance
Spoiler:
With every game there is always a meta. To keep a game exciting small changes are made to continually change this meta. As supermechs has developed it has ignored previous items to the extent where they're totally worthless. Rather than go back and fix these items, you throw more items in to the game continually creating more and more redundant items. While it may add more content on paper, it's only reducing the ammount of usable content the game actually has. A prime example would be rocket weapons. They were weak for a long time. When mythicals were released more rocket weapons were thrown in to the game and again they were too weak to be usable. So another mythical rocket weapon was thrown in to the game that is now usable. All the other rocket weapons have just been forgotten about, with no real place in the game. Heck, we even have a massivly underpowered rocket drone that consumes a huge amount of rockets to then tickle the enemy mech (Bird Blaster). I've used rocket weapons as an example of how poor the balance of the game is right now, however there are many items in the game
that serve no purpose.


Levels
Spoiler:
Seriously, why do we have levels? It made sense in the past where you could only fight mechs around your level. However right now it's a complete mess. As soon as you hit level 15, you're thrown up against mechs that can equip level 30 equipment. The items around your level have no hope of competing. By the time you've gained any decent items for your level, you've moved up and need a whole new set of items. You're stuck with under leveled items which are totally useless, except for a little extra fusion. Again this has been forgotten about.


World chat
Spoiler:
This really needs some rules or some form of moderation. While it's a nice feature, which I wouldn't want to go it's full of spam. There isn't any way to report players, so anything goes in this chat. This really ruins the whole thing. Even if you try to have a reasonable chat, try recruiting for a clan, find a member it's swarmed by necessary messages. A clean up on the world chat would make the feature so much better than its current state.


Single player
Spoiler:
I can't complain about the added interaction the new single player has. However forcing players to pay to continue on with it was unfair. Players already have to pay enough on multiplayer to continue playing at higher levels. To then extend this to single player is really unfair for all the free to play players out there.


Mythicals
Spoiler:
The last thing I will pick up on. These things have created the biggest imbalance in the game. Rather than address the problems already created, you've chosen to throw more items in to the game and create larger problems. Not all of these weapons are overpowered, however the majority of them are. Without them you're eventually going to hit a brick wall where you're going to need a couple to progress any further. I understand this motivates players to purchase these but as I mentioned above there is a high risk, low reward in doing so. It creates an elitist group of players that will always been on top making it impossible for others to progress any further. It's also added a huge imbalance to the game that only gets more difficult to fix, the more of these that are pumped out.


Mid-End Game goal
Spoiler:
This is more of a suggestion than critisim. As the game currently plays out right now there is only one goal and that is to be the best. It offers nothing to the players that won't ever be able to reach the top. If players had something to work towards it would add more to the game than simply becoming the best. Have weekly goals, one easy, one hard that players can work towards. As an example "win 10 matches with only energy weapons". This gives players something to work towards on a weekly basis.


I'm sorry this has been so long winded and I know I still have other problems with the game (that aren't too much of a problem or I really shouldn't bring up). I'm hoping in the future I can come back and fall in love with this game again.

Much love to the community, I've really enjoyed the couple of years I've had with everyone. I want to thank you Ilona (even if you're gone) for all the opportunities you gave me. To everyone one I've played with or against on BD, there were many interesting eras I've played thanks to you guys.
