please drop $100 to my paypal account ilona@..... and i change your name to whatever you want!
no, kidding
We have that feature in BD. For 100 tokens, you can change your ingame-name. Its frequently used. Maybe 7-8 times each week. We brought that in for the reason that players at the end of each era wanted to change their name to their 'real name' and there were times, when half of all messages were about changing a name and the other half about : "HE/SHE CHEATS!! He/She was able to change the name! I was attacking xxx and now i am attacking yyy!!"
To be honest, it was a pain and I am still glad that this is now something you have to pay for!
On supermechs, I see no reason for doing that. You can already chose a name and a nickname for the mech. In case that we add multiple mechs (I still hope we do) you might even be able to choose a nickname for each of your mechs.
About the forum name: The forum account is connected to our tokens system. I wouldn't like to have players "losing" their tokens, because they changed their forum name several times and got a time-out, a disconnection or whatever might happen. There are only a few reasons to change the username for a player, and its always a huge afford as we as admins need to make veeery sure that the player is able to log in with the new one. Usually, it happens only when a player (BD or SM) becomes a moderator as we like that they have a "real" name instead of IWASDOOMED or any other name that they picked when they joined
Sorry, but a clear NO. This won't happen soon
