Ok,
posted many times and it was disscussed in many topics,
but I will not get tired to post until you got a solution for this:
If you are a player with much exp points you are caught in a very tricky situation:

If you are playing lower level (for exmple 23) you were put against 28, 29 and 30 level mechs most of the time because you are so "well" experienced
Outcome: a very small winning chance.... :(

If you playing level 30 (which is focused goal of the developers I guess...)
you ALWAYS (99%) you are put against 30 level mechs too, but starting second (yes,... because you are so "well" experienced...) with getting the full package before you have chance to act (one drainer shot and hit of double push back weapon).

Then you are standing in the corner with 10/12 difference in resistance and lost many hp without possibility to shot. If you come close, you are disadvantaged because of resistance.
If you stay there you can put out drone and have fun....
Next round same situation (if opponent doesnt come close, with advantage in resistance and hp).
Only thing is try to kit up, but if opponent does too, nothing has changed.
Thats it, very frustrating these days for me (and others also I think, specially for the players who are true blue for long time)

My proposals:
1.) Reduce the level, which mechs are put against in vs (to 3 or less, -> other topic in former times 70 level, and I guess 3 was maximum difference)
2.) First turn ONE move generally !!! :!:

Thanks

I must argue the point here, i am sorry...
i play at level 23 at the moment and i get in lots of matches against 28, 29, and even 30's. i must say that i do not consider my chance of winning small at all as i can defeat these opponents more often overall then i lose to them.

Hi ELE7VEN,

you are serious when you say that with a lvl23 you have a winning chance against a 29 or 30?
"i do not consider my chance of winning small at all as i can defeat these opponents more often overall then i lose to them."
Big sword, drainers, all that stuff...!?
Either we don't talk about the same game or you did't meet a fully geared uplevel mech yet.
If you see me in the list in vs player feel free to send battle invitation and then we will have a look at your chance of winning. ;)

The reason I can win is because I would have between. 4-5k ladder points and the level 28-30 mechs would have less then 1000. This made it more fair in the fact I had better skills and strategy compared to them. All they had on me was there level of power. So it was basically my technique and strategy against there level of power, which I was able to overcome. I'm not saying it was easy, but it was not impossible.

I have since moved up to level 30 myself.

Edit: I have since reduced my level again.

will modify for next update:
1. max level difference in battles: 6 levels
2. starting player always starts with 1Action point. no matter what the level difference is
3. player with less ladder points will start first if levels of mechs are equal.

question is, why would you still want to play lower level after the above updates?

i want pro players to play in level 30. not newb bashing...

First: I have all the good weapons for the lower levels, and I dont have it in level 30.
The lower levels and the level 30 is a total different world, you need total different tactics and others... Someone good at the level 30 game someone at the low levels, someone good everywhere. Why is it so incredible that someone dont want to play at high levels? I play at level 18 because i love that level, not because the noobs, i love the challenge, but I hate the level 30, I dont now why. If you want the high level players to play at level 30 you should ban them to play at lower levels. Thats the only way I think, or you should separate the low level players and the high level players. So the high level players fight against an other high level player in lower levels.

i wish for the pro players to fight the pro players, and let the newbs frustration to minimum to allow them to play long enough to become pro players as well...

I think the above update looks good, but i also agree with Mr.OneTwo. I was at 30 and i found it very hard with the mech i had to work with. I am now fighting again at a lower level while trying to find parts to make my level 30 mech better. Nothing i have on my lower level is Legendary and nothing on it is anything a "noob" cant get to be just as challenging. I did spend tokens on Epic Items, but those are found in the normal box easy enough for those who don't spend money to still obtain. The Only Reason I spent said tokens is because i was out of range of that level to get those items in a box. So i don't really see the unfairness there except in the knowledge of there builds.

But i do like the idea of a system where level 30's who play at lower levels are only matched with levels 28-30 who are also playing at lower levels in the same range.

As soon as i can get the parts i have in mind for my level 30, i will go back. i don't mind losing, but nobody likes to lose 95% of the time. [figure of speech but you get my point]

I support this, but i dont know how. Maybe we should two optoins, two arena or what. In the first when the new players play in the level where they are. And when they reach the level 30 they wont be able to play in the first arena, they should play in the second arena, where is the other level 30 players. And in the second arena all the level 30 players can play every levels against everyone who reach the level 30. So no noob vs pro problem. Thats my only idea.

Good idea but even then you will still have Noobs. Its not hard to reach level 30, especially with a premium account. i did it in less then two weeks. My first account sucked. It took me 4 accounts before i really learned the skills and strategy to play. One suggestion i have for this is to slightly slow down the level process so that players can actually learn the ins and outs of how to play as they level instead of power-leveling into level 30, and then being like "duh... now what"
