More information, one of my two kids accounts had no tokens for his 28 levels, but he leveled up to 29 and got 20 tokens.
The other kid is just busy in another game, so I dont know his tokens. (I dont know his password to check).

tonight I got my 5.000th victory, level 106 and 20 tokens!!! all hail Tacticsoft! 25 more levels and premium account here I come  jk it's all big boxes for me from now on

Also you should have received tokens based on your level already, to make it up to our past effort... I haven't recieved any tokens so far also. At my current level (70), i should have recieved 1400 tokens. But what i have, is big, fat 0.  -- Aeacus
