Hey everyone!

As you can read from the topic's name, i'm suggesting to be able to only equip 1 sword at a time.

The reason behind this is because swords are way owerpowered (as everyone knows) and there are many players using dual swords (mostly regular one and kickback) without focusing on other weapons.

The 2 sword tactic itself is simple:
  • fire hook
  • hit with knockback sword
  • fire hook again
  • hit with knockback sword again
  • use teleport/charge to get close
  • hit with regular sword
repeat last 2 moves until opponent is dead

Also, my suggestion would make players to focus more on using different weapons than using just 2 swords all the time. It's way too easy to use 2 swords all the time. But if you can only have 1 sword, you'd need to rely on your other weapons too, not just on the sword(s).

So, what do you think? :)
I'm quite sure that players who use this dual sword tactic are against my suggestion.

I think it's actually a pretty clever tactic

In my opinion they are taking a risk using 2 swords since that does reduce their damage potential if someone can stay away from them. Also the fact that they use a turn hooking you rather than doing solid damage means with regular weapons you should be able to keep up or even out produce them in damage. In short I vote no, the most important thing in this game is setting your mech up the way you want it and if you limit that you limit the potential of the game.

Two swords is a valid tactic and should not be discouraged. However, I think the HOOK and CHARGE should have range limits. Teleport already allows you to pop anywhere on the battlefield. I think CHARGE should be limited in range to twice your movement allowance and HOOK should have a max range of three or so. Also would love to see an implementation of a DEATH FROM ABOVE (DFA). If a mech with jump jets initiates a charge he can opt to do a DFA causing and additional 50% charge damage. Just my two cents. Great game...

Two swords is a valid tactic but you really only use them both if you start the turn one space away from your opponent, which we know can never happen if this opponent is strategically valid. Let them screw themselves, I voted no. And I quoted this to say I don't agree with the charge and hook limits, you only get one teleport until later levels and if you're out of rockets and unable to venture forth without being destroyed, it becomes a boring drone battle.

im going to say no because what you say about this is completely wrong. im at lvl 28 and tbh i beat people that use swords as much as people that dont use swords. a solid tactical build can beat the 2 sword tactics if you know what you are doing

I agree.
We shouldn't be limited to one sword because choosing to equip one or two swords is one of the tactical decisions too...
For example, I have builds with one or two swords equipped, and I beat most people with any of my builds in a fair fight :D
So, my vote is no.

Yeah it is, this way you still can do a higher damage output than using two weapons, since damage reduction reduces the incoming damage only once, rather than twice as it happens if you use two weapons separately ;)

Anybody with brains could avoid getting hit with a sword twice in one turn, even then, when you knock the guy back with the second sword, it'll be hard to set up again, I just don't see how two swords has any benefit whatsoever.

Like most commentors so far, I think two swords should be allowed. Its not so overpowered that it is an auto-win; if it were, we'd all be using it.

Its a tacticasl choice, and using two swords does limit ones range ability, so its a trade off.

Yes, the hook and knock back is an awsome technique which I never yet used, but I intend to do so now having had my ass handed to me more times than I dare admit in public by wache2014 while using a mech 3 levels lower than me  . But you only get two hits before the knockback sword is out of action, so again its a trade off.

I vote 'no' - it should not be dis-allowed, it should be allowed. Its powerful, but not over powerful.
