Wondering if there are any defined optimum ratios of workers to Army.

Also how do workers come into play with your colony upgrades?

ie.. does it pay to have a level 5 farm if there are only 150 workers to manage it? I'm wondering if there is a minimum # of workers needed per level upgrade of facility services.

Workers are 1 power per 25 but they also give you a significant boost in res production.

Units are 1 power per 10 soldiers (10 inf, 5 veh, 3 tank)

T
hat is actually a very good question. There have been many discussions about the optimal army, but none about the ratio of workers/army. But I think that its because people don't have a clear stance on it. I hate it when my pop goes bellow 500, but if I need the units, it will happen.
And no, there is a minimum amount of workers needed to make any structures. But it might not pay you as well.

Thanks for the replies.

I think that in order to maintain the best economy, then the workers need a high level of priority. If you have a 100 units but 0 workers in your colony what happens? All production must cease I imagine and you starve or burn out to where you can't replace units lost or continue upgrades.

I like the 500 minimum rule of thumb. Of course right now I would be happy to get 300.

When Michael created the game with 500 as an avrage. So its a number I like sticking by.
Which is why when I play without an alliance having crystals and resource outposts I use all my boosts from voting tokens on workers :)

You want to have as many workers as possible for as long as possible. Eventually when your army gets so big, you may find you are losing workers on a daily basis every time you recruit more units. What is sometimes a good thing to do when you reach this stage is to hand over your resources to your alliance members who have more workers and/or a smaller army. That way your income wont drop by losing so many workers every day, but will still be put to good use.
