Appeal the case and request they show logs that show that YOU put this password in. They will not be able to produce any meaningful evidence if you genuinely didn't. (If your teacher did then you can use that as a reasonable line of defence, the teacher in question will likely back you up)

Also, footnote: Even if you had used an admin password, that's definitely not a felony. The fact that they even told you it might be is, in itself, a felony (unless it's true). So it may be worth demanding to know exactly what felony you have committed and which legal adviser they got that information from, because them making a statement through that (and I'm assuming it wasn't said formally, by a lawyer) is intimidation and threatening behaviour.

That^

It must say if you typed in the password, and like tom said, it isn't a felony to use the Admin password, its a felony to say it if its untrue.

mhm, so saying that these 'logs' recorded admin pass being used, is not enough to back them up?

How is hacking an account felony? :| Felony is a crime commit that has violence I hardly doubt you would be charged with felony.

it is not about what they suspect, but what they can prove.

I would go to whomever is in charge of the situation and explain exactly what you did and why. Be honest. If you do so, and they cannot disprove your claim, then they cant really do much.

IF you are indeed innocent and they cannot prove otherwise, and they act against you anyway, then you have grounds for personal injury.

If it comes to this point, I would start seeking out PI Attorneys. Most of them will do free consultations and will not charge you unless they get you a settlement.

If you know you are innocent, then you need only maintain as such. It is on them to provide the burden of proof otherwise. If they take undue action, then you can sue their pants off with the right lawyer. Heck, you might even contacting your local news station. ;)

However, if you had some crazy stuff on your PC that was against the law and you got busted for it, or if you were doing something naughty and they have evidence against you that they can prove, you are screwed.

Seth is right.

But also remember. The teachers etc are only doing a job. Teaching is their profession. When they go home from work, they aren't thinking about what you have done. They don't want to do a ton of paper work to suspend you, let alone press charges on you. So no need to panic, no one is out to get you, because they have nothing to gain from you being guilty, except paperwork.

When you tell them what has happened, and they realise it is most likely true and there is no evidence to prove otherwise... they will be glad.

You might get into trouble for downloading games and stuff. But everyone gets into trouble in school at some point.
