People in America are sedentary enough without adding anime to the occasion. It's something Japan should keep to themselves. Basically I'm merely remarking that we have more important things to worry about than 'Clannad.'

Hey Etherion, while I finish that article you look up unemployment rates in the US. Sound like a plan? Kthxbai.

Can't believe anime has taken over like this.

Spam has hit an all-time low.

so it's like "Anime is Japanese, we shouldn't watch anime"?

And if u're going to head to that direction, again, ban all the games, soap operas and games that are making everyone less work and more play...

Animated shows will always beat anime, I'm talking about the Simpsons and Family Guy. I'll bet my life that more people watch those shows than people watch anime. Like, 5 million people if not more watch every new episode of those shows. Again, not talking about crappy Disney shows.

Anime doesn't have the sarcasm, the irony, the hyperbole's, the understatements, the paradoxes, etc. that American Animation has.

Or Nickelodeon, whatevs. I'm talking about the Simpsons and Family Guy, and Futurama, and American dad, all of which are more interesting and complex than anime. Oh wow, this girl has magic abilities and goes to this school and loves this boy, yay! No, what about a fanatical liberal CIA agent that has an alien living with him and a talking Goldfish? That's creative right there.

Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a renowned young brain surgeon of Japanese descent working in Europe. Highly lauded by his peers as one of the great young minds that will revolutionize the field, he is blessed with a beautiful fiancé and is on the cusp of a high promotion in the hospital he works at. However, all of that is about to change with one critical decision that Dr. Tenma faces one night – whether to save the life of a young child or that of the town's mayor. Despite being pressured by his superiors to perform surgery on the mayor, his morals force him to perform the surgery on the young child, saving his life and forfeiting the mayor’s. All of a sudden, Dr. Tenma’s world is turned upside down by his decision leading to the loss of everything he previously had. A doctor is taught to believe that all life is equal; however, when a series of murders occur in the vicinity of Dr. Tenma, all of the evidence pointing to the young child who he saved, Tenma’s beliefs are shaken.

Naoki Urasawa’s Monster is a tale full of mystery, suspense and intrigue as Dr. Tenma journeys to find out the true identity of the young child. In turn, the fate of the world may depend on it.

In the near future, a revolutionary new psychotherapy treatment called PT has been invented. Through a device called the "DC Mini" it is able to act as a "dream detective" to enter into people's dreams and explore their unconscious thoughts. Before the government can pass a bill authorizing the use of such advanced psychiatric technology, one of the prototypes is stolen, sending the research facility into an uproar. In the wrong hands, the potential misuse of the device could be devastating, allowing the user to completely annihilate a dreamer's personality while they are asleep. Renowned scientist, Dr. Atsuko Chiba, enters the dream world under her exotic alter-ego, code name "PAPRIKA," in an attempt to discover who is behind the plot to undermine the new invention.

In the year 2019, thirty-one years have passed since the outbreak of World War III. In Neo-Tokyo, all authority is waging a never-ending struggle against the underground that virtually rules the shattered city. A top-secret child with amazing powers of the minds breaks free from custody and accidentally gets a motorcycle gang involved in the project. The incident triggers psychic powers within one of the members, Tetsuo, and he is taken by the army and experimented on. His mind has been warped and is now on the path of war, exacting revenge on the society that once called him weak.

anything to put aginst those ... any better stories?

Wow it managed to gather 8 million views in 5 years. They should try getting that many views in one night. By the way, it was obviously repetitively watched because it had little girls in it.

they are highschool students .. most of them

look at this: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/japan/yearly/?yr=2009&p=.htm

at the places 12 and 8 is anime

look at this http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/japan/yearly/?yr=2010&p=.htm

at the places 9, 8 and 3 theres anime

look at http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/japan/yearly/?yr=2011&p=.htm

at places 5 and 3 theres anime

and those are animes shown in theaters not in tv.

dont forget that there's about 50 anime shows released every season of the year
each produce 1 ep per week
about 20% of the released animes have more than 12 episodes and will be released on the next season too
so theres around 60/70 episodes released every week
and every one of them is watched by people over the world

and it's more than Simpsons?

Perhaps one day anime will be generally accepted as a form of entertainment in America, and will no longer be limited to college students and comic conventions.

When that happens I'd love to see sexually related crimes go up dramatically.

so when Rambo 8 comes out people will kill ea
so when SAW 16 comes out people will start to kidnap ea
so when X-Men 3 comes out people will start to mutate into monsters ?
so when simpsons will have a new season everyone will turn onto a yellow dump guy?
so when soutpart comes out with every new episode someone will kenny IRL ?

NO NO NOOOo it's ok to see that kind of content in TV

and dont compare anime with hentai cause it's like comparing "SG1" with "girls gone wild" if you get what i mean

and anime is for all ages from 0,2 years old up to 90+ years old old ladys but american cartoons are for little children what u just immagine we see in every anime

did you see kiddiporn in dragonball?

i dont think so

but why u think they will F@($*k ea in clannad?

Chillax. I don't exactly feel like seeing a war here.

Might we soften our words a bit here? And I don't think the colors and large font would help your case very much.

I'm sure you don't need gigantic font like this to prove your point. If you're skilled at it, you can prove yourself without being overbearing.

Besides, my computer froze for a minute upon clicking on this thread, then crashed. So if I were Dyls I probably wouldn't be able to see the thing anyways, much less see your point.

Try to approach from a different angle ;)
