Hmm I am a big fan of anime, I enjoy all genres from harem comedy romance to dark psychological thrillers, seinin battle manga and shonen battle manga. I have read the articles posted here and would like to clear a few things up from my own understanding at least, there is Anime which can be original or based on a manga, there is manga which is a form of comic in Japan and finally there is Hentai, Hentai is the porn version and the title of this topic is quote "Anime or not" i dont see hentai mentioned. The same way you can have controversial moves e.g. Requirium for a dram, Irreversible, I Spit on your grave, all these moves have scenes of ra.pe, some have drugs and other controversial material but you do not say "all movies are full of ra.pe, drugs and controversial material" that is generalisation and usually it is used by the narrow minded, I personally do not watch hentai so cant speak for or against it but as far as anime goes while there are a few very controversial ones out there the majority arent full of sexually explicit content, there are some that have "ero" or "eccchi" material which includes panty shots and other scenarios as fanservice but they have a genre of their own and can be easily avoided. Basically my point is dont come here and insult fans by calling it kiddie porn as I personally find that offensive as I have watched a hell of a lot of anime and dont swing that way lol

If any, I'll say games are even worse. Take a look at FPS games, Call of Duty, A.V.A, BattleField,... in versus mode they encourage killing, the more u kill the better, right? And the best thing is that u won't take responsibility for that. The killed guys will just respawn in a few minutes.

The same to movies, almost all action movies have killing, guns shooting,... without the acceptance of the police forces. They kidnapp ur wife, kill ur children, u shoot the hell out of them, then the police arrive, u walk home and spend the rest of ur life with ur wife in a lovely white house. Is that right?

Using anime, games, movies and all other things as excuses to commit crime is the worse excuse I've ever heard.

As I said, I'm a totally, 100% perverted lolicon, I enjoy killing ppl in games, however, I know wat is right and wat is wrong. I won't go outside and ra.pe all girls I meet, kill all people around and stealing cars on the street. If somebody do so, it's their fault for not realize the line between reality and fiction, not the anime fault.

now aister think about it what is the stronger urge? to have sex with somebody or to kill somebody?
you may be able to mantian enough seld control to not commit any of these actions but lets face it some people do get carried away and things like this will end up happening more frequently

Inb4 hurr durr its Japanese cartoons. I know. Big deal. Here is the difference between Japanese and western cartoons.
Key features:
The nose is upside down.
The eyes aren't human.
Impossible hair styles.
Horrible scripting.

yes, and that's their fault for getting carried away.

If they can get carried away that easily then wat about movies? games? or even books? They have the same effects right? So why no one blame them? Why does everyone play Left 4 Dead, using the shotgun to blow off the head of a zombie, commit a crime then blame it on anime? Why does everyone watch 300 and enjoy the blood spilling, commit a crime then blame it on anime?

Think again, is that anime fault? Is that the movie fault? or the game fault?

Why doesn't everyone who play games, watch anime and movies, read books, go on the street and ra.pe and kill everyone? Just an individual or two do so and you blame it all on anime?

Where is the nose? And u call it hair? Are those eyes human? And the script? Come up with crazy idea, do it, sister mad, mom home, some crazy things happen and everything is gone. And the neighbor doesn't care for a bit. I mean wow...

And about the moral lessons, I'm sorry but I can't see any on Western cartoon. They are just mere entertainment, plain jokes, dirty jokes, stupid jokes, bloody jokes, done. I can't even bring myself to laugh at those jokes.
