i made sum troops and theyr inside my base and i get a button when i click on them saying i can create a new squad. do i need to make squads for them to work?

yep. you have to move your units into a squad to start using them.

if you dont put your troops in a squad they'll always be hidden. of course, you cant use those units lol so thats kinda pointless. yes they'll be seen in scans BUT scans are inaccurate so that'll help you some.
