Cry Cry Cry. Learn some skill instead of having to pay for wins. What's the point of wasting your time playing if you have to buy your wins?? It takes the fun and competion out of the game. And as for this costing BD to lose alot of money if they inforce it, I totally disagree with that. I for one stopped boosting awhile ago because I got tired of buying 6,000 or 9,000 tokens for a round when you have a few others spending 3 to 4 times that just for a win. I'm not wasting my money if BD allows the mass boosting/boost farming. And many others have stopped or cut back on boosting as well because of it. So look at the facts. You 10 or 15 crying mass boosters who have to pay for you win can quit if you want and it wont hurt BD. They will regain the 100's of us back boosting who stopped boosting because of the boost farming. So BD will make more money if they actually fix the Boost farming issues and eliminate them.

sorry for double posting, but it seems to be not connected at all to the previous one.

i think that BD's main problem is that for a strategy game, it doesnt offer much of strategy (it got much worse in the new worlds). therefore you have 2 keys in order to win:

1 - activity
2 - money

and this has nothing to do with strategy.
the youngers players are usually better with activity, and the older ones are usually better with money.
that is how it goes, as simple as that.

now when someone says "it's not fair that someone get an advantage for paying money", i could also say that it is not fair when someone get an advantage for not having a company to run, 3 kids, and a wife that gets pissed off every time she sees him with "that game again".

What BD guys needs to do is first decide how they want this game to look like. not sure at all that they do.
and tbh, i dont think that there is anyone of the admins that knows how this game is really played today (maybe they should listen more to their new admin...).

As for the other things you say about smaller boosters stepping in, i wish to see this happening, but i won't hold my breath, and if i was BD, i would be very careful to count on it

Going forward we will be enforcing this and anyone found doing this will be warned/suspended depending on severity.

That said the update this weekend will have the following updates, #1 will address the above issue permanently:

1) We will be adding in a function to track and disallow metal/oil(Galaxy: minerals/gas, Fantasy: gold/wood) purchased with tokens to be sent to other players. More details on how exactly this system works will be provided once the coding is complete.

2) Crystals will be earned at power level 40 from now on instead of 20. With the changes we made to the way power is calculated over the last year or two it is fairly easy to achieve 20 power. This makes it far too easy for someone to farm crystals and as such we are doubling the requirement to 40 power. This will also help with newer players having more units to be able to better defend themselves once they do achieve the power requires to earn a crystal instead of losing it so quickly.

3) The first 100 ticks of a round are crucial, power gaming(Purchasing a lot of boosts with blue and/or red tokens) during this time gives a significant advantage as you can quickly build structures now with the reduced build times. To rebalance this to prevent power gamers having a serious advantage so fast with advanced units and tech we are going to increase the build time(Cost will be staying the same at this point) on some or all level 4 and 5 structures.


Feel free to give feedback and discuss these changes in this thread. These ideas are not yet fully finalized and community input as always will have a say in the development of Battle Dawn.

maybe only allow these mass boosters on there own server. i mean they think it only takes money to win this game. put them all on one server so they can spend there 2k per round.

Keep mass boosting(cheating) off my serious servers or you will lose my $150 per round. That I use and follow the rules and wait for my cool downs to be over with.

I was hoping to have some healthy debate, didn't think I'd get 10 pages by this evening, lotta feedback here guys and I love it :).

To Seth: I wanted this kind of feedback, sorry I had to run earlier and didn't mention that before posting in Skype.

I have to run again, just caught up the whole thread but don't have time to post fully. I'll be home in a few hours and I'll go through the thread again and grab some quotes to reply to.

2. I can't believe I'm saying this, but i agree with Trevor. Toss those boost farmers into a single server, and have them go at it. at the vary least, it will provide a serious income to BD :lol: If they DIDN'T stop this, you can be sure I'd never boost (not that i do now)

Then those supporters are the vary ones who used this token farming, and exploited this loophole. Others will step in and fill their place eventually. Me for example, as soon as I'm financially able (in about 8 years XD) you can bet i'll be boosting $100 worth of tokens a round. This game is completely worth my support. I wish it was more well known so it wasn't having these financial issues.
