lol I remember making a speech that went something like this.

Honorable chairs, distinguished delegates.
For reasons already mentioned, this resolution shouldn't be passed. This resolution has been thoroughly bashed and anyone who does not vote for it is unfit to be a delegate. Why am I coming up here then? Because I don't want the opposition to vomit more lies. Vote against this resolution. No POIs. That will be all.
Thanks. :D

That was the last day, so I wasn't afraid of Chair retaliation. :D It was at a mini conference in malaysia, MYMUN.

I feel kinda stupid now.. but can I ask what MUN is?

I think I've got the general idea, and I might have done it.. but not 100% sure, can someone explain?

MUN - Model United Nations

Its basically students re-enacting the UN, we debate different resolutions on different topics and different committee's etc. Daerduo can give a better explanation though.

So every 'Delegate' is basically given a country and they must debate from the point of view of a different country, not your own.

I collaborated with USA as the delegate of Palestine on a resolution on terrorism. I mained, USA second submitted, we had half the house co-submitting and it passed, but...
:( my teacher was mad for some reason.

You got half the house co-submitting? As in you used all of their resolutions to make yours better? o_O

Erm...I take co-submitting really lightly. What I did in THIMUN was just go around, get people to look at our finished reso, get them to promise to vote, nod enthusiastically whenever they give me a suggestion and call them co-submitters.

Surprisingly, it works.
