Using something like 230 blue tokens you can get to level 4 Metal/Oil/Food by tick 2. Maybe earlier. I didn't think to use any tokens until the tick had passed.

Sorry for double posting but want to get another answer here so Bumping the thread.
Is it better to get Oil 4 or should I wait and get Food 5 first?

In a 1 tick world I always try too get food lvl 5 metal lvl 4 and oil lvl 3 tho u might have too boost blue toks, and get light gold to do this...

In a one tick world, i would build level 4 food, level 3 metal and level 2 oil.. i myself is a big aggressor at the beginning of an era.. so i also focus on military buildings Best alliance rank: 1-UGTBBest personal rank: 1Most crystals: 110Most power: 311Most relics held (pre-havoc): 1IGN: OwNaGeBest score:6350 (with relic)Most active conquers: 254

Ignore the one tick world part on my first post, this is the resource structures i build on every era at tick 1. it doesn't matter whether its a 1 tick or 4 tick world, i will always build those structures first... I am able to manage building my military structures/ units because i normally boost blues  I use the resources that we get from the start of an era to build up my resource structures and i use the rest to build up my military Best alliance rank: 1-UGTBBest personal rank: 1Most crystals: 110Most power: 311Most relics held (pre-havoc): 1IGN: OwNaGe

I'd get oil4 before food5.

this is the order i usualy go in if i have no tokens and 4 some reason didnt wana build troops lvl1 farm lvl1 metal lvl1 oil lvl 2 of everything lvl 3 of everything lvl 4 farm lvl 4 metal lvl 5 farm lvl 4 oil lvl 5 metal lvl 5 oil
granted i always build troops at the start and go out conquering like a mad man this is how i would build up if i decided not to build troops

My technique is
Tick 1: Lvl 3 farm, lvl 3 metal, lvl 2 oil
Then 3 farm, 4 metal, 3 oil
Then 4 farm, 4 metal, 3 oil
Then 4 farm, 5 metal, 3 oil
Then 5 farm, 5 metal, 4 oil
Then finish up oil and start building your range inf structure.
Note that you might need to boost a bit of blues if you want this to work faster.

erm @littleconquerer, kane and anybody else who gets food5 before metal5...if you're getting food5 after tick 1 (which you are, since unless you're very high you're only going to be able to boost to food4 on tick 1), wouldn't it be better to get metal 5 before food 5 since food5 is only useful when the next batch of workers come, and you'll probably be getting food5 before that anyways? In simpler terms, it should be more beneficial to put off getting food5 until right before the next batch of workers and getting oil4/5 and metal5 structures before that since you'll be getting additional resources from those structures and not the food structure. My two cents.
