here is how i think of it. if you dont pay for tokens you dont really have a right to call out the BD team beacuse they have real life stuff to do.

so because no one pays for FB then no one has a right to complain about it? complaining and pointing out flaws is what makes things better.

There was no disrespect or lack of regard. It was sunday, and I had my neice's b-day party to attend. The moment I woke up, I noticed ticks were down and it was resolved quickly. I didnt have time after doing my worlds & emails to check the help desk to address any threads.

That's all fair and well, however, you are the ONLY person responsible for BD? All I was after was a simple news update on the world page 'We are aware, we apologise, it will get fixxed asap', it didnt need to come from you personaly. I dont care that there was a downtime, just that we felt largely ignored.

A little bit of maturity and patience & understanding in these respects goes a long way.

However, I can promise you that coming in here and saying inflammatory things will solve nothing.

So you call us immature, then accuse us (Or me?) of making inflammatory remarks? Hmmm...

Regardless, I'm not complaining about downtime and 'Why was it down for so long?' More over, I'm complaining about the lack of interaction from the BD staff. Not you, Seth, personally. The entire team.

Do you think we are hundreds of people? 2 major devs (3 but 1 on vacation) 4 server admins which are not devs and 2 of those admins (Joe and Andrew) work day jobs. We work on a budget and are NOT a big corporation.

I also double as an administrative assistant to the devs and as a community manager. This means that I am the one who comes here and lets you know what I am hearing from the devs. I have done this and there is nothing behind the scenes I have not made you aware of. We do what we can with what we have.

We have been on this downtime from the moment we were able to be until now and will likely be doing whatever we can long into the wee hours to keep anything else from happening and to mitigate the upcoming maintenance tonight which is also aimed at preventing more problems.

If that is not what you are looking for, then there is no more reason to post in this thread.

well seth we know you try your hardest to work your butt off for this game. and i understand when there is down time, it just gives me some time to go do something else in my real life. im just mad at the people who demand the servers come back online now and they want 10,000 resources to be compisated for the down time.

Always on the weekends when the developers are off or asleep is when the servers decide on crashing. Why not set aside like 1 day a week for a hour or two to reset the server do some maintenance so that this problem does not persist. Will give us all a more secure game to enjoy and also give everyone a short break to either sleep or prepare for that upcoming war/relic.

I know this should be in suggestions but this is about the freezing tick situation that continuously has been appearing the past few years. More often lately than it has however.

Have you not noticed the announcement that hardware will be replaced to address this issue?

We dont typically take weekends off. This happend on Father's day.

Now, unless you have something else you need help with, I think there is no more reason to post in this thread, as this is regarding a tick stoppage, which was the result of faulty ram not giving the tick engine enough memory to complete its processing.

By the way, stopping once a week or doing these things would not have prevented the hardware from failing. It would have still failed, and if it failed on Fathers day, it would likely have still had the same result.

This is the internet. Its all based around computers. Computers are machines and machines have parts that do not last forever and eventually begin to fail. Every site will have these issues eventually, if they stay online long enough, and this will likely not be the last time we experience a hardware failure. It happens.

Again. Sorry for any inconveince, but nothing we could have done would have let us know that a stick of memory would begin failing and begin depriving the tick engine of the resources it needed to do it's job. Also, we would not have been able to see this as a source of the problem when overlooking our own programming, as the programming itself was not at fault until our provider ran diagnostics on the unit and discovered the problematic hardware. If you have ever built a computer or maintained a server or group of servers, you know how things go. If not, then maybe equating it to your car will help.

If you are riding in a car that your friend leases from another company, and the car breaks down due to the alternator failing while you are in it, do you then begin to tell that friend of yours how crappy his driving is? No. Common sense dictates that it is not material to the situation. Your friend wasn't doing 150 miles per hour and trying to run people over going up on curbs & stuff, so his driving is not material to the cause of the failure. Even if he was driving like a madman, that would not affect the alternator and it would have failed even if he drove like a senior citizen on sunday. Machine parts fail. It happens. Get the tow company out, have them haul it back to the shop and fix you up & send you on your way. No amount of telling the driver how unhappy you are with him will help anything at all.

Now. There aren't any more frozen ticks right now, and the faulty hardware is already on task to be fixed. Unless there is something about the frozen ticks I have missed, then you have no reason to post here.

I understand you're all trying your best, but as a enterpreneur myself I know that customers dont care. If you cant deliver a service the way your customers want it, unfortunately they'll leave to another provider.
