So I just rebelled and found myself in the middle of a very large alliance.

Since I am incapable of taking colonies already conquered by other players, and whose production abilities are much greater than my own, I am unsure how I can leverage my position to get any chance of performing acceptably in the game. I know i could just quit and wait for the next game, but I'd rather not.

I've taken a couple outposts, but thats all that i can manage right now.

in short, short of getting lucky and catching one of the surrounding free colonies off guard when their 120+ troops are off base, whats my next move?

What i like to do is just spam a large alliance's outposts and bugging them
using spys to trap and spy attack their armies then attacking them, losing my army but demolishing theirs (:

Or you can try to get into a sub, allowing you to actually gather up crystals + conquers and at the same time increasing your army size (power)

well personally I hate subs but they can be an option never where for me you can also just relocate to a safer spot and join an Alliance
so look for a good Alliance to get it

Big alliances will ALWAYS liberate you when you are annoying them. I remember I joined in around tick 3500, they immediately conquered me and I kept pestering them so I got invited to the sub, long story short we ended with number two and I even got a decent score.

I agree with the others, the best way would be to get into the best sub recruiting

As u most likely know, a sub is like an extension of a main alliance so by joining a decent sub with a good over alliance you will most likely be protected and pick up a few tips along the way to better yourself

The best tip i can give you is join a server as soon as possible, i allways try and get on tick 1 so i can go allmost anywhere i want and have a good lead over others :D

Good luck
