Mixed chassis really can work, I have actually done it on a few eras.

But the only way for it to work is if these conditions are in place:

1. Each individual chassis army is big enough to take any enemy alliance (which means you need a HUGE army)
2. You need to manage your troops very well, so that you don't ever accidentally send mixed chassis into a battle.

Those conditions are ALMOST never true.

trust me I had the same inquisitiveness as u... then I faced the problem and saw the reports... decided although its not written anywhere its a hidden truth in the game mechanics itself.... u lose more when u have mixed chassis... I am still not sure how exactly... but it does happen...

that means u too agree that mixed chassis is useless in a single battle but may be useful in war (well thats a strategy and was effective for me too)

but a single battle mixed chassis is absolutely no no

Not really. In a war against a good allaince, you will almost certainly have battles where you need your entire army. If they have even half your squads, mixed chassis is a waste.

My point exactly. in battles mixed chassis is a big loss in most cases.... but some times u end up building them to surprise your enemy... and in the epic battle if u r in the stronger team u survive with heavy losses... if u r in the weaker on u r doomed... so the basic point is mixed chassis is no no

and Milanos I think you actually agree on this... so please stop quoting me :P

Simple.
try battle simulator nd see who wins.
as ppl stated above, the difficulty comes when u have to group up more allies nd also the activity.

35 inf squads to 15 heavy squads seems to work. When the whole alliance has them that is. Then when you se 300 incomming. And you are 100% inf 65% concussive. You're screwed. So...only do this if you know your enemy and are sure that no one else will attack you. You can use havoc to try this out. Just with 3 times more units.

if you enemy builds all vehicle and builds against all types of chassis (concussive, beam, rocket for mars at least) and you build every chassis and every weapon type... the enemy has the advantage because every unit is effective against yours but not all of yours do 100% damage to all of theirs. only a third
meaning single chassis is 3 times better than mixed
trust me... ive tried xD
whole era mixed chassis... didnt end too well lol

3 weapons vs 3 chasis = All 3 weapons are used effectively

3 weapons vs 1 chasis = Only 1 weapon is used effectively.
