Really, Twilight - you're a great guy and all but you really don't know what you're talking about.

Put yourself in Kane's shoes: There is an active, dedicated colony who is new to the game but is showing lots of promise. Do I kill him and have him join my enemy or do I recruit him into my sub and have him defend me on the forums and kill my enemy?

I'm not saying he's a bad guy, I'm just saying that ANYBODY would have picked the second option.

Personally, from what I've seen from Kane is negative. Lots of respectable people refusing to have anything to do with him and most of all, him being extremely arrogant when ever we are in contact.

Ping said it herself, it was all GIFT's fault that I was forced to snipe them. They had been continually sniping us for crystals throughout the NAP. You get what you give.

As said above, SNN were actually the first to be attacked by G1FT.



The sad thing is that I sent this directly to Kane as soon as I saw it and he failed to reply or tell his sub to call back.

I (with the rest of my alliance) assumed that this meant that Kane did not consider his sub part of the agreement and was unwilling to talk about it, so we defended our territory.

Again, Twilight - you still have my respect, don't forget that.

So what do I know about Kevin... well let me put it this way...
My biggest problem was all the drama
From my perspective the whole affair went something like this...

SNN was like POKE POKE POKE. Whatcha gonna do huh? Well? Well?

And then one of the GIFT members got fed up and didn't even really do anything but loose 4 squads, but the SNN jumped on the forums screaming MAMA, MAMA, She hit me! She hit me!!!

yeah... that about sums it up.
I don't respect that.

I fought with Kevin and it was a duel with honor on both sides.
I do respect that.

It's that simple...
And I did read your posts above. I just thought I addressed your points in other parts of my post. I also might have accidentally edited out a few portions of my response. So to reinstate those bits... G1FT was included in the NAP on our side... SNN was marked friendly and we were not allowed to attack them even after they attacked us. If we were the ones attacking SNN's stuff do you have any doubt they wouldn't be all over us for Breaking their NAP? Yet for some reason the reverse is not also true...

And to your most recent post... I was only responding to gipsy's ludicrous assertion that Praising Kevin seems to be my religion. Maybe I was a little sarcastic in response to his flippant remarks, but that doesn't mean I genuinely... you know what... never mind. -_-

It was actually quite to other way around, Twilight. SNN were being respectful in their actions, not sniping until GIFT sent 4~ squads at a crystal which would kill 1 SNN squad if they landed, twice. However, snipping was not talked about in the NAP so we ignored it and gave GIFT a dose of their own medicine. THEN, for no reason at all Ping has a go at killing 8 SNN squads, not very nice imo.

That sounds like huge miscommunication between your leader and Kelvin. My leader has the conversation that lead to the NAP in writing, subs were not induced in the NAP.

So this became a GIFT breaking a nap, to defend kanes "honor"?

From what I can see, Kane is defending Ping for breaking the NAP. He really should be a lawyer.. Great at making a solid case look phoney.

1. Actually, opposite to what most of you peeps seem to think, I do know what I'm talking about... Really... I do...

2. Actually he's the only person to have done it out of the 8 different servers I play. So it means something to me. And I really put in some effort in trying to find an alliance to accept me in that first week... on all servers I was playing.

3. This actually makes me respect him more, not less. I don't think I could have too much faith in a man with no enemies. If he were just a jerk then he wouldn't have the win record that he does have.

4. Your side helps... Only half a series of messages doesn't paint the whole picture.

Agreed. Though imho all of y'all's "must include subs in an NAP specifically" philosophy is a load of bollocks. Sure I can see the relevance when fighting a sub empire but with 2 active alliances with a history, where one man speaks for both? Nope ... just goes against common sense.

Anyways, my two cents as follows. Not everyone hates winners. Look at malice, ferret, mfreak, gipsy...they are respected winners of the BD community. They are not hated. Kane is not disliked because he wins, he, in my humble opinion, is disliked because of the obvious disdain and condescendence with which he treats people. I'd imagine, winner or not, people would dislike kane because of that alone. I've never played an era with kane, yet I already know I probably won't be friends with him, because he's an ass to debate over something with, something caused not by kane's allmighty great intellect, but by his personality.
