Oluvai wrote: WhatILacked wrote: Jesus give it a rest already people? What is done is done, Nothing will change due to your ranting so why are you bothering to continue? Sleep people.. sleep.. This is factually inaccurate. The game, specifically Seth's repeated bad behavior as an admin, has not changed by keeping quiet. It may change by forcing the game to focus on him and his administration of his eras. We know silence has allowed the makers to refrain from ever addressing they key question asked here and softly elsewhere. POINT TO THE VIOLATION I MADE AND SHOW ME WHAT TO EXPECT FOR A BAN. Seth has not only been unable to clearly point to a published game rule which allowed him to act as he did against the actions he saw, but he has shown no game rule which allows him to act as he did against those who were in no violation of the rules, but he felt they might eventually become. It's a simple question. The closest we have on this is a guy who spent $1,000 on the era is "arguably" farming by conquering a colony with a single crystal, and the ONLY evacuation point out of Africa home should it be required. You have an admin who believes he can fit any situation he doesn't happen to like within nebulous rules which don't actually apply to the conduct taken, but which, in a pinch, can explain away to Michael what the hub bub is all about. There's a reason Seth is now here showing John Doe's past citations for rule breaking. My guess -- not a fact, merely my guess -- is Seth didn't, as he expresses here, have any of that history prior to taking his action. The utilization of past bad acts, which may themselves be questionable given the operational method of admins here, is merely a disguise to the fact he has yet to answer WHERE he gets the power to act OUTSIDE the game's stated rules. He clearly has it, but where is it enumerated, if it is? If it is, regardless of how reckless and crazy, at least someone wrote in a published document, "Notwithstanding the specific rules captured in the rules section, our admins are entrusted to take action prior to and after possible rule violations take place and take punitive action against colony owners, which may span several realms, for actions which have never been contemplated as a rule violation previously." No. Now is the time to pound on the drum and demand change Maybe the change is as simple as the game maker's writing something in their rules which says what I wrote above. Screw you guys, we'll do what we want, so deal. That's a fair rule. If known ahead of time, no one can say they weren't warned. I once wrote a rule for a very large message board that said, "Users who question the admins understanding of the rules will immediately be banned for presuming they have the slightest clue as to what the rules the admins wrote are meant to capture better than the admins themselves." People hated it, but, it's there. It ain't hard. Say you can do what you want. Don't try to fit round holes into square pegs. To be honest I have not the time for effort to read this right now.. Its too early and i am waiting on exam results.. To be honest, you seem to be taking this way over the top. The seriousness of the situation isn't as much as you are making out? "It may change by loudly proclaiming a clear dividing line where the user community -- especially large donors -- grew so tired of his interference and unfair application of rules that the game's financial impact deteriorated." Isn't that a little over the top, he made a decision, a decision had to be made? You may not like the decision but that's tough luck isn't it? Honestly let me ask you this, Has ANYTHING happened because of your ranting? Because i cant see much being achieved...

It may change by loudly proclaiming a clear dividing line where the user community -- especially large donors -- grew so tired of his interference and unfair application of rules that the game's financial impact deteriorated. Since you keep beating up the dead monkey and refuse to listen what the other part of the community, which does not agree with you, is trying to tell you... here it is, plain and simple:
Large donors ARE happy with admins of BD, including Seth, and we ARE satisfied with how Seth addressed this controversial situation under the circumstances.
Now, after i assumed to be the voice of the whole community, how does it feel? Stop speaking in the name of BD community (supporters and non-supporters), you have no mandate, you can only speak up for your self. Please give us that much respect. Thank you.

What you say might be true Ping, regarding certain donors, simply because they have benefited from an admin action. When Kevin got banned however, you did not agree with the Admins action, and even that was a controversial situation similar to this one. Obviously what Oluvai said atleast applies to two of the largest donors on E4 this era. Lots of others have expressed the same issues and concerns to me atleast, in private conversations, if not here. So I would conclude, that the number of people actually agreeing with this particular admin action, are few and far between. Obviously you have to respect the majority since it is a democracy

And I could not put it better myself ... one has to respect the majority and not couple of players who are frustrated by the fact they investment turned sour and they did not achieve their objective. Live with it and move on, we are getting tired and exhausted by this as it seems never ending moan.

I am one of the largest donors too. I dont agree. Oluvai doesn't. Avi doesn't, Andrei doesn't, and so many others who didn't play the era dont. I brought up my private conversations, just to point out that there are many more that have not commented on this thread or do not wish to, but feel what Oluvai said was simply the truth. And that number of people far outnumber, those that agree with Seth's decision.
The majority therefore is not with you. Anyway, if you are tired, you could totally avoid the thread and move on, and let people "moan". When there is an issue it has to be brought up, fought for and fixed. There is nothing wrong in pointing out obvious flaws in the system.

You do not have insight to most of the game's players minds, you are only repeating those of few vocal ones, as if the repetition could somehow multiply them. I learnt at my Marketing class that frequency is not everything, the reach sets the scope of the target audience. And overkill with frequency can result in negative effect of message delivered. Please stop before that happens. Alternatively, all this can turn into something like this...;" ahh "this one and that one", were those not those guys who could not take defeat and blame it on admin, it went on for weeks, what a ************* they were "

While you learnt in your marketing class that frequency isn't everything and the reach is what sets the scope, you clearly forgot that applies to you as well.
While you argue that I dont have insight into most of the player's minds, you should not forget that you dont either. Because clearly if you did, you'd see that more people feel the same way as myself and some of my other friends.
Now everytime you get on here, you seem to pick on things like - "You did not win, so you are taking out your frustration on the admins". You should understand not everyone, does something that you probably prefer to do.
It has been very clearly explained by someone from your own team, that Seth's decisions affected the era. Not just this one, various others too. He has gone on to clearly cite in very long detailed posts, and even explain why he thinks this is happening and even proposed solutions to correct the existing system. If you still feel this is a NO complaining about admins because they didn't win thread, then I suggest you re-read all of the pages once again. You will clearly see that while there are digressions, the primary focus is on preventing admins or rather calling out admins for making arbitrary judgement calls based on certain assumptions EVEN when rules havent been broken.
I hope your next post will be of some substance and show some understanding of the issue.

Actually mfreak,
You and your friends affected are the only ones i see complaining about seth's decision making.. Everyone else involved or not seems to be leaning towards thinking seth did the right thing.
You must be blind to this fact?..
