I'm currently gathering friends I know in person to play with me in an alliance. If that works out I may be able to bring them into this project since they aren't predisposed to anti-sub-hatred

Yeah ok, for some reason didn't pick up on that. I'll reread what you posted later, but I think that that point wasn't very well stated. Anyways. If that's your point, fine.
Nowhere did i say sub empires are a guaranteed win. You can't even imply that. I implied that *good* sub empires are a guaranteed win (8 alliances in top 12, although SYN does stand to be an exception, but I'll get to that). History is, I believe, on my side on this. But I'll justify this anyway. 1500 players is a lie. Large majority of players are farms. Decent players, players that can make a difference aside from taxation, lie in top 500 (bit liberal, should be 100 but eh). Let's assume that as a good sub empire, you're drawing from top 500? Congrats, you own a fifth of the world. And in which case has the other 4/5 of the world succeeded in united against a sub empire? They all prefer to make peace with the empire than fight.

The top 500 does sound like an exaggeration but it's probably more correct than you realize. On worlds I'm doing very well I'm in the top 300. In worlds I've got crystals and conquers I'm in the top 200. I've never been in the top 100 and I don't consider myself a bad player.

You're right about 8/12 being in the top 12 guarantees a win. I just took you to mean something different than you intended. If we dominated that much then I think we would deserve to win at that point.

And besides, 8 alliances is a lot... I don't know where your ideal for an empire starts but I was just going for more than 3 or 4. I would rather have those three or four be solid than have a bunch more less effective alliances taking up space.
