The way I see it, a clan is only as good as its members. The best clans obviously play ladder because they have to in order to remain the best. The next best clans play ladder because they want to be the best or get recognized by the best clans. Clans after that come in three varieties: lonely, active, and casual.

Lonely clans are those started by single players that have no confirmed members before founding a clan. Casual clans are most of the clans in the game where you have clan members filling up the ranks or leaving at will but no real will to get to even that first 300 benchmark. I don't even know if Active Clans exist - but I would like to join one where players do ladder because it is interesting even if it can be demoralizing and they like the experience.

Based on my own play activity, I would say you need 4-5 somewhat active players to reach the 300 benchmark. That's 60-75 wins per week which is about 20 Battle Energy per day which is high, but not unreasonably so. A clan with 8-10 members less active than that (10 battle energy per day) should be covering the 300 benchmark fairly cleanly as well.

I've been in clans with 18-24 members that can't even muster 250 wins with my personal contribution of 25% of it, which is frustrating. If anyone has a good clan or plans to make a good clan, please PM me in game.

I have 8 good mythicals covering various dmg types but my strong point is energy. I mostly play between 4:30pm to 8:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am to 9:00pm (GMT time) on weekends (usually more in the morning and evening)
