owo maybe 3, im a product of the public school system.

i wobble a bit. i already have 3 cracked ribs and the fight has just started...knowing that vault will be ready for anything fancy, i rush in. we enter close quarters combat rather quickly and soon sparks fly everywhere. im at a disadvantage up close due to my long weapons but i've prepared for this. throwing both scythes in the air i pull out a katana i had on my back. with this we're even, and i begin slashing furiously at my opponent.

As the storm of scythes and katanas close upon me, Tenkai doesn't realize that his scythes aren't the only ones flying around. Without letting him see them, I had thrown my own scythes, each of them a perfect replica of Tenkai's, and now we are both trapped in this deadly game. However, I have calculated everything: I simply stay still. Tenkai doesn't get why I do, but when he slashes at me with his katana, one of my scythes does a horrendous cut in his arm. I now simply dodge his, and with my own sword, I thrust it deep into Tenkai's abdomen, careful not to kill him.

They say in the beginning there was nothing, and then there was something. That’s mostly true and all you need to know if you are, say, a ferret or a whale. But that’s not it, not completely.

In the beginning there was The Hill, on which grass danced and sunshine flickered between the cool cinnamon breezes. In the deserted, edge-less darkness there existed only The Hill, enclosed in the embrace of a sphere of protection. In that brief period, The Hill, in all its wonder and innocence, grew. It planted OP saplings in the nothingness, and the saplings grew, from pliable buds looking longingly upwards, into ringed Radar trees that offered its branches to The Hill, granting It infinite vision over It’s empire of nothing. The Hill then created Gate Stars, the faraway white crosses that would have been seen in the sky, blemishing the smooth nothing, if there were anybody to see them. The Hill created It’s world, our world.

But with the trickle of time, the sphere of protection got weaker and weaker by every tick of the clock that the Hill had created. The Hill felt this, and so ordered the grass to take to arms. The dancers picked up concussive weapons, for those were all that the Hill had, and stared intently into the foreboding darkness. If The Hill had a heart, It would have felt cold and uneasy, for she would have been scared. One day, with a tick unlike the others but with a finality that The Hill felt shake her world, the sphere disappeared. Suddenly, a waterfall of redness came down around her, and The Hill could not see, and It panicked. All of the remaining grasses were forced to pick up weapons, and together, and army of ants, they faced the redness for ticks that lasted an eternity.

Tick.

Tick.

Ti—

On the third tick, The Hill saw through the subsiding redness a red arrow that pointed to her with a brutal stare. It drew a deep breath, and ordered her faithful minions to attack. But they were not prepared for what they faced, giant warships that breathed fire. Only later, after It witnessed the burning of all she had, after the screams of a thousand innocent dancers would wreck her dreams, and after Its sent a desperate broadcast asking for revenge to the universe, would she know that they were called tanks. In Its final moments, The Hill closed what would have been her eyes and bowed what would have been Its head in submission to Its conqueror. But it wasn’t Its final moments.

—ck

The Hill looked into the departing arrow, and then examined Itself. Her Gate Stars were gone, and so were her Radar Trees. The scorched blackness of Its body left her bare, and It knew it would be some time before grass would once again dance on It. It had been owned, badly. But The Hill took a deep breath and bravely began to reconstruct. For millions of millennia, It would slowly restore to her former glory, and It would one day once again have Radar Trees lending their branches to It, and Gate Stars lending their mystical powers to Its use. And later, millions of small people would fight over It for what they believed would give them authority over The Hill that has seen so much. They would mistakenly think that they have conquered The Hill, but they would not.

For in the beginning of time, there was The Hill, and before that, there was FACK. I conquered The Hill. It is, will be, has always been…

FACK's Hill.

(Yeah that was a repost)

The Hill sits there, watching as Tenkai and I battle each other on it's topside. Now we have both heard Xeru's tale, and I recognize who I have been fighting. Yet, Tenkai is nothing but a bloody mess, speared by my mighty sword. He is alive, yet in agony. His cries of sorrow and pain, might very well be heard by the Hill, and vengeance be exacted upon me, but I am not afraid. Yes, I am but a human; not a mythical being, nor a legendary one, who has lived forever, created kingdoms, saved princesses, gained fortunes, leaded millions. But I am Vault Dweller. I am the human who has now claimed multiple victories over one of the most powerful FACK members. Such alliance dares say they conquered the Hill, and so shall they be forever. And so, I know that, by how right those cries of sorrow are, more right is my claim for his blood, over the land that is no longer owned by him or his comrades.

And now, only solace shelters Tenkai, as he is unceremoniously brushed off the Hill. A single throne stays in it's place. It is an empty throne, as I am not King. But, nontheless, the throne is mine, as none has had the power to take it from me. So I ask, where is the mighty FACK legion I have heard of? I am here. I am not a being: I am human. I have powers, true; but my heart beats as true as any other. And my heart, my strenght, my soul, shall be given for this Hill. For I shall rule over it even if I am not King, as no one will put a feet on it without dying. My ruling will protect it. So, just for this sacred altar that we like to call Hill, I will be it's Protector.

Now I ask: who dares step into the light of judgement, to battle with me, and receive the punishment he/she deserves? Who thinks that can topple me? For I shall break your illusions, one by one, until the only blood that can be spilled for this magnificent Hill is mine. As I would gladly spill it before then, yet I have no intention of such sacrifice. So words here, matter not: bring your spears, bring your shields, unsheat your swords, bask in your glory, and then face me! But be ready to die, for I would deeply regret to send a person to the grave whose dues haven't been fulfilled, even if I'd gladly do so to whoever poses a threat to my Hill.

Now FACK, your reign is over! I care not for your petty little sleeptime stories, nor for your biased fame! I am here: come at me! Because you say that from the beggining to the end, you rule this Hill: well, I MAKE this Hill to be mine from this moment to my last! It is judgement time: bring it on!

VD HILL!!!

Hmmm...

Promising.

Duo walks calmly to vaultdweller, pausing only to offer some comforting words to Tenkai. But it is only years of cooperation that enables him to know that Tenkai will recover, and so Duo is unperturbed. He looks around, but doesn't see Ferr3t anywhere--no matter, Liam's ingenuity and style is definitive, and there is no doubt in Duo's mind that should he, under impossible circumstances, encounter trouble that the powerful moderator would come forward instantaneously to aid in the battle. For now, perhaps it is best that he be left alone to prepare his inevitable masterful stroke. It has been long days since the FACK war machine has united in its unadulterated state--that of its conception. And it is only this dynamic of warriors that has enabled the envy and emulation of an entire community, as FACK has set the precedent for the onslaught of mimicking alliances. Duo knows not of what happened to the alliance after his last departure, but now that he is back, there can only be one outcome.

Duo leans against a tree, hands in his old jeans, a tight shirt rippling with the lethargic wind. He surveys the warrior in front of him--they had never met, but his courage and skills were certainly admirable, even if insufficient. As he finished his bold challenge, Duo allowed himself a smile. Promising, he thought, and difficult, for a first battle for his return to command.

Vault, I'll match your challenge. I'll admit freely, I don't remember you. And I sure as hell haven't been around to know what victories you've 'claimed' over FACK members--empty claims, perhaps? There isn't any honor or courage in hiding behind names or riding high on pride--so long as you know who you are facing, then the fireworks of a good war should be imminent. Perhaps it is time that this battleground sees less claims of victories than relentless battles to justify these bold and unwarranted words. The gauntlet has been thrown by a worthy challenger, and I on behalf of FACK accept it.

I smirk a little at the choice of weaponry I face. A programmer and a tinkler in my spare time, I've long accepted the superiority of modern technology, the coolness but inefficiency of those obsolete medieval fighting tools, and the stupidity and impracticality of futuristic imagination. Slowly, I pull out what seemed like an old-fashioned revolver, smiling at the cool metallic touch that's gone untouched for so long. Crude looking, it was extensively modified, not for brute force but for versatility and multi-functionality, allowing for the improvising fighting style that I've adopted. Quickly, I fire three practice shots at Vault. Without any surprise, he deflects it with short bursts of energy. Interesting...seems like a dues ex machima if nothing else.

I pull Tenkai over to me, asking for any help. Only a broken explanation of Vault's weapons in the last few encounters could escape his lips, but even that was enough. Vault had what was apparently an sword summoned from the antimaterial realm. Antimaterial could only be interpreted as antimatter, and as such, there must be a vacuum between it and the rest of the world, contained as it is. There is no other way to sustain the antimatter in midair with such consistency and security that it would be able to be used as a sword than with some kind of electricity, and so I rapidly flip open my watch to reveal a screen that was projected into the air with a hologram. A nascent technology that tracks retinas, I locate the screen I want with a quick glance--an electric field detector. Sure enough, the sword shone a bright red on the screen. Smirking a bit, I pull a cylindrical disc out and attach it to my sidearm. The disc shot out straight and true, hitting the ground before Vault, who saw no reason to shoot something that wasn't about to hit him.

Before he managed to read the letters EMP, the disc let off its deadly package--and for a few precious miliseconds, the antimatter sword felt gravitational pull for the first time, outside of its magnetic field, and fell slowly to the earth in its vacuum. As it touched the matter that was the container of the sword that kept it from contact with the air, the two substances were reminded once more of its primordial origins, in the creation of the world where the two first met. Matter and antimatter, the massive explosion which matter won by the tiniest of a percentage. And that primal spark lead to a great explosion of energy--it was only the unbelievable sharpness of the sword, and thus the small amount of actual substance--that kept the entire region from exploding. A heat wave punched me in the stomach, as I too was knocked back by the explosion. But no harm was done, and I rose to my feet. I no longer saw Vault, but surely that could not have been the end of him. The explosion was surely enough to cause him to expend a massive amount of energy to avoid death, and perhaps would force him to be more realistic with his fighting.

Lesson of the day is, kids, before you bander around futuristic words, make sure you know what they actually mean.

Go away jett.

Now shoo before I have Targoon eat you. Kthnx bai.
