Does it really take an old git like myself to point out that SM is actually a modern game suitable for the modern age able to breathe some life into these forums?
SM is well designed, simple enough to understand with deep underlying systems to master. Dawners are simply being elitary as hell.
BD is now 8 years old. Be grateful for SM - if SM is a huge success, chances are Michael will put some of the profits into funding his personal baby (BD), hopefully with a proper sequel.
I wouldnt count on Michael reaching in how own pockets for it again, nor would I say I consider it likely BD can be expanded much further.
We're talking about an 8 year old game design, full 2D, based on flash, ancient technologies for networking, with a couple of static maps and for its type, ridiculously small servers. ARF is both right and wrong. Gamers who like BD, as it originally was intended, now have the perfect game. This is it - you can't iterate on it much further. Unfortunately quite a lot of people don't want BD as it was intended 8 years ago, because most strategy games have evolved far beyond this point.
Even these forums are in that style - once upon a time these were cutting edge, and even now I would dare say this may be the best forum software and version for those who do not want Javascript.
While at it, dear chaps, maybe you would agree Nokia should stop creating touchscreen smartphones and focus on creating more phones like the n95?
