I want to clear on what does the shield do before I use it.

Does it delay the opponent attack by a certain tick? Or it will completely stall their army until u run out of energy?

Can soemone please provide example for the explaination? Thanks.

It delays them for however much you charge it. Each charge is 50 energy and gives you 3 ticks of protection. You can charge it for 3, 6, 9, or 12 ticks.
Let's say someone attacks you and sends some squads. Once those squads are ETA 1 from your colony, your shield will kick in and protect your colony the amount you charged it.

You buy a 12 tick shield using 200 energy. I send a squad at you and it's ETA 1 from you. The next tick, your shield turns on and it won't hit you for another 12 ticks. (If you are playing on 1 tick worlds, that is half a day and it helps a lot!)

Also, once your shield is activated you can't turn it off.

I see, thanks, that makes sense.

So basically it's same as newbie protection shield, just that it cost u energy.

Also, I have another questions. Does missile dmg friendly or ur own unit in a targeted colony or OP?

It damages your ally and your own units.

#1 I see of option of activate/deactivate shield, so once it's on, and you dont get attacked, it wont cost u any ticks is that right?

And according to you, if someone attacks u and activated ur shield, you can't deactivate it until all energy runs out? Is that what you mean?

I don't fully understand no.1; the shield, when activated, will delay all attacks for the amount of ticks you charged them for, as soon as the squads hit a 1 tick ETA.

And yes, you can't deactivate it.

Sorry perhaps I didn't explain my questions clearly.

What I meant to ask was like this, say you activate your shield which has 12 ticks and go to sleep, but then nobody asked you meanwhile. Do you lose ticks during these time?

To clarify, no, you do not lose ticks until enemy inbound squads reach a 1 tick ETA.

Thanks a lot that helped.

But then if someonbody attacked u and you activated shield. But on the next tick they retreated and you still have 11 ticks left. You cannot de-activate the shield and will lose those 11 ticks, is that right?
