1. How can I use the fire storm spell or the Ion cannon.

1st - you have to make sure that you have the correct buildings upgraded (for ion cannon/firestorm the last row of buildings is where its at as the last upgrade)

2nd - once everything is upgraded correctly all you have to do is select the colony, squad, or missile/dragon that you want to attack by clicking on them and looking for the cannon/spell option.
(it should also be noted that you can only hit squads or missiles that are heading toward you or your ops or someone in your alliance's colony or op)

firing a firestorm/ion cannon takes 200 energy/mana

But what does it actually DO?

On missiles, squads, and especially - colonies?

Damages what, and how?

if it's used on missiles it destroy the missile.
If used on a flying squad it delay the squad by 1 tick and turn all units in that squad to HP 1.
If used on a colony/outpost then 10 random units on that target go down to hp 1
