So far I have received three requests to join my alliance. I am very good at PLAYING the game itself, but I have no idea how to accept the requests. Please respond.

When you receive an alliance a request to join your alliance, you click on the colony that sent the request. After clicking on that colony, you click on the button that sends them an alliance invitation. You can't actually do anything with the alliance request that you receive in your "Events" tab.
