Ok, here's a scenario.

A guy is in your alliance. You're the leader and you have a relic. The guy sends some defense for the relic. You later kick him out for being inactive. Then an enemy comes and attacks the relic, will the guy's units defend?

I'm pretty sure the guy's units just chill there, not attacking nor defending

I've had that happen a few times.
