Ok i got a question about the pictures wich show your rank just below your avatar.What do they represent?Now mine is 3 lines with a sword,what does that mean?

well i dont really understand how i got 300+ units and another alliance member has 260 units and his picture is 2 FAT white lines while mine is a sword and three liitle lines

Each one of the images represent a different power level you have. Every 15 power you'll change your image to a "greater rank" one.
As Scrappy said it shows how much power but right now I cannot provide you a complete list of images, power and military rank that each one represent, sorry.
Maybe your alliance member has more conquers than you. Power is not only based in the amount of units but workers and conquers work there too.

also if it just show units and you got 300 inf and he got 260 tanks you just get 30 power from units while he get 78 because 1 tank is 1 unit, but it's 3 soldiers
