OK, I expose myself to getting "the most stupid member award", but I don't get why conquerors don't release the conquered colony after a while and offer them membership?
As for the conqueror, the owner (conquered) can be:
  • at best passive, "source of resources", or stop playing at all so the colony gets deleted
  • at worse - PITA, making troubles with the spy attacks, etc. and eventually start to rebel
If released, the colony may be of much more use to the conqueror as the user can cooperate, contribute to the alliance and so forth.

After all, wouldn't it be more beneficial to have more members in the alliance than only 10 or 12 (as the most powerful alliances have)?
Maybe it's "pride & power" the top-players are showing, so they just don't turn back. Kind of: we are leet, you can only watch.
I'm playing on world #4, still haven't visited "more advanced" worlds, as I'm a newbie and would like to play and experience the game in full and all its aspects, instead of being the resource for some "powerful" player (in short - a slave).

It really kills the fun of it.

Regards.

Well, the max alliance size is 10 nowadays.. So they can't let you into the alliance.

Many alliances however have subs, that are basically daughter alliances. If you ask nicely, you might get into one of those.

Well, its the fact that they want the best players possible to join them. And most base best players on who got the most power/crystals. So they wait till someone like that comes around.

Oh, I didn't know there is such a small limit on the alliance members (but I see alliances with as much as 14 members).
That pretty much answers my original question, why conquerors usually don't look back...

I understand. But someone like that may only come around in the early stages of "era", i.e. when the server is reset and everyone has equal chances (or fortune, if you wish) to develop his base and form/join alliance.

In later stages, newcomers (no matter how experienced and good) are mostly (re)sources for the existing well-developed players and alliances. They are just "fresh meat".

Protection/No Protection... Massive Attack comes into silly mind.
This is hitting me very hard, maybe I should at least try to stop building structures in my dreams... and maybe seek for a pro.

Cheers.

Yeah, actually I might. Seems the "social" and "relations" skills are a bit problematic for me...

Cheers.

It is mostly for income purposes :)

If strong players do not keep conquering people, their large armies will stunt their worker growth which leads to smaller resource production which leads to smaller army growth :/

If you want to try and get freedom from your conqueror, try building a ton of spams (1 damage tank) and spamming all of his outposts. "Newbs" and "pros" alike usually use armor inf but damage tanks will really piss conquerors off...Im a conqueror, trust me...i know;)

Yeah, it's like a real world. The more someone is rich, the more options for him to get even richer. And the the more miserable someone is, the doors slam shut making him even more miserable.
Authors, this is a fantasy world - make it essentially different from the real life.

Yeah, the army upkeep. I read about that and saw it in My Colony -> Management tab...

Could you please be a little more clear on this? Coming from a conqueror, knowing what annoys him is a precious advice. 8-)
But I'm not sure what world are you talking about. I suppose the armor inf is a fighter (with additional armor) on a galaxy world. Then tank shoud be cruiser. Hmm, I'll have to wait for a while before I can build a cruiser.
And what does "spamming" means? Is it a frequent attacking with relatively weak (and cheap) units to distract the enemy by slightly bruising them, just like the swarm of flies can make a cow running for life?

Thanks in advance.

to answer the question: "why so small alliance"

it's to avoid stacking, which u have all the good players in one team. By spreading out the good players we could have some competitions too.

And I'd say no to annoying the conqueror. Bad things will come with it *shiver*
