Has anyone ever heard of rounds where they were extended?

Yes. It has happened a few times.

Various reasons, including but not limited to

  • popular demand (everyone on the server pulling for it)
  • or, scheduling issues with the admin (usually only done if it is going to make no difference in the outcome of the round)
  • or, a fate-deciding war that the top alliance and the attacking alliance both agree that they want to take part in...
  • hundreds of ticks of stalemate with the action being possible only after the round ending time (I guess this one goes back to the last reason in a way)
  • Scheduling issues with too many worlds ending at the same time

It is however, something that is rare.

I haven't personally. I think rounds get extended only if war doesn't get over by tick 3000 (in a one tick server).
