first of all,you have to build missle silos,dragon lairs,or whatever the level 5 military structure is for earth and mars.

alright, build the correct level 5 structure. Next, build a missle. in 24 ticks it shall be complete! then select the missle, it will appear like a squad on a dragon lair, finally select a target.
