i'm getting better at battle dawn, i usually rank around 20-30, and i often find myself tangling with bigger alliance than my own. i'm starting to notice massive attacking armies of 50 squads or so, from only 1 person. so how do they do it? Even during havoc i can't make much more than 30 squads because it takes so much time, even though i have unlimited resources and i can hurry each. is there a trick to this?

the people with massive armies are most usually boosters, and in havoc, people just spend their time building and hurrying their units until getting lots ( like me, got 100 squads in havoc)

50 squads from 1 person is posible.Even without boosting.I managed 70 full squads before. And I dont boost. And In havoc,I can get over 200 full squads. Its not difficult.1 hr of non stop building until I use up all my havoc resources. Its not difficult. It just needs time.

That said, 30-50 squads is about an average army for a member of a top alliance. A massive army is 50+ in my opinion. Donation cannot support a massive army due to the overhead costs meaning that beyond about 30 squads you get very little bang for your buck when trying to build squads from donated resources. So sick of people moaning about donators -.-

As Tom said, it all comes down to conquers and crystals to gain enough resorces to build up 50 squads but more importantly, to keep your worker supply high. Boosting cannot support this, since there is simply too much overhead & worker upkeep.. Sure, it helps but you can't get by with a credit card. Just a side note, don't forget that the squads don't have to be full - it's a commen stratergy to send a couple of spams with your main force so the enemy doesn't know exactly how much you're sending and it also has a negitive phycological affect on the defender. Feel free to find a mentor in the Adopt-a-Noob thread or if you want you can send me a message on my MSN, I'll be happy to help. [email protected]

Conquers, crystals, and relic counts is a huge role on how quickly you can get your army up, boosting loses it's thing after a while since overhead goes up and you won't get a lot of units out of the resources you'll get from boosting as Tom said, workers is also the key, with crystals and conquers you'll have extra worker income which will fund the making of your workers.
I've had nearly 90 squads without boosting near an era's end but not yet in havoc, so it is doable.

well one thing i figured out was shift+click to select multiple units. i used to select each one by one, and that took forever.
also, over the last few days on m4 (really short era) i managed to make 15 full squads by 700 ticks, and i could probably get more with a bit of luck (without someone taking my crystal in the beginning).
i see where the donators thing is coming from, although i think donators still have an edge in the beginning of the era, being able to conquer colonies quickly in the beginning and to take outposts because they can get a few half full squads.

Donators absolutely have an advantage at the beginning of an era. Thing is, all of those lovely conquers they benefited from having mostly deleted by ~tick 500. By then, nondonators have had plenty of chance to mass a huge pool of conquers (since conquering requires activity a lot more than it requires a large army)
