Well then, if you cant decide, use vehs. An alliance used vehs and dominated a round before. It actually depends on world speed as well. Inf is better for slow worlds where you have longer time to react. Vehs/tanks are better in 2-4 tick world where your units build faster and require less time online to mobilise them.

I prefer inf/tank mix personally. It usually helps a lot in taking out opponents. Try 12 inf squads to 9 tank squads per set. It will work out.

I'm too lazy to go technical on you, so someone else can have the honor of explaining why mix chassis is stupid most of the time.

Certian mixes are bad. The inf/heav chassis works like a dream if you are confident of outnumbering your opponent by at least 9 squads. i never fight unless I do. And I never lose more than 2 armor squads.

A mix chassis army is actually the best out there. In theory.

The issue is you can only use 1/3 of your army in any large-scale battle however.

BUT if you know what you're up against you can do major damage to the enemy by using your "type-specific squads". And you can surprise your opponent when they attack you thinking you have one thing and suddenly your using something completely different.

Why only 1/3 ?

I hurl my entire army at any target I feel like. Always win with no more than 6 armor squads loss.

Because then you give your enemy a target to hit for full damage. While some would say this divides their firepower. *True* It enables your enemy to do more total damage to your army. (Instead of forcing infantry to fight tanks or infantry and doing less damage, they can fight Vehicles and get the bonus)

While you may only lose 6 armor squads. IF your force used was all one build you'd lose.. 3 or 4. But there is something to be said for flexibility and an army that can fight any opponent.

Actually, it's not that tanks don't have a bonus to balance it out; the 25% damage for vehicles and infantry are there to balance the (somewhat flawed, IMO) system, that gives tanks an advantage over infantry. In a tanks vs infantry fight, when neither has significant advantage in health or damage, the deciding factor would be whose damage output is damaged more in the following rounds; the explosive units of the infantry army will be immediately hit, while the tanks concussive units will be shielded a while longer by the other range units that will be hit before.

I'm pretty sure that similar advantages can be found a lot in the system, but that is probably the most significant one. I haven't delved too deeply on the matter, though.

The reasoning for mixing chassis would be to avoid being vulnerable to any chassis, right? For example, making infantry to cover your tanks from being torn to pieces by vehicles?

There's one critical flaw there however, I'm afraid. Your opponent will only need less firepower to kill your tanks then, as they have less armor to protect them. You simply allow your opponent to deal much more damage than they could if you had enough armor to back up your tanks.

Worse, if you happen to be facing tanks instead of vehicles... You know how that will turn out.

You have different weapon types for a reason. Build beam if you want to fight vehicles. It gives you just about as much firepower to counter them, as well as not actually weakening your army in any way.
