I don't like being in subs, but subs are useful because they let alliances that are full kind of expand.

subs are somewhat good and bad.

GOOD: - Train newbies
- Expand your alliance
- Make your alliance more feared, so no random attacks from noobs.
- Make you alliance more knowned though the world.
- Expand your territory.

BAD: - They can break treaties.
- Don't have full command. Can cause communication probelms.
- In some cases, turn against you causing a civil war. (That why you should only have 2 or 3 subs)
- Go off your main plan. EX: You plan not to attack some outposts from a alliance that is stronger than yours. But your damn sub decides to attack them like crazy. And that alliance pawned you and your sub the next day.

I'm not saying alliances are bad but there is a limit. Make subs when your alliance is full and need more recruits.

TK started it I think. Or at least we were the first to make it successful.

Good
-They are a good learning tool
-protection from the main(which is a burden for the main)
-support(they support the main)
-good conquers XD

Bad
-sometimes, they attack friendly alliances without permission from the main.
-sometimes they go against you
-sometimes they are just plain weak

well to be honest, I don't like subs but it can't be helped.

you gotta remember depending on how big the world is, player-wise Subs can be the difference between surviving or falling, 14 guys can only do so much against the world before they fall. Although I am not particularly for them, having one to supplement the main in strength, and activity, when real life events happen etc... can be quite helpful.

30? Thats 420 conquers down the plug hole xD

Anyway, if it wasn't for subs, I would be the player I am today. I was battling it out in my first era, the alliance I was in war rank #7 or so and it was pretty great.. Then some stuff happened - all the pros went inactive and I was left with one guy that never managed to get a rank under 1k. I then started looking for new alliance and I saw BULe, the mighty sub and third ranked alliance so I put in an app. I was snapped up in no time :)

In that time while in BULe I filled up the gaps in my basic BD knowledge then got to know the main alliance leader himself (Avi) he seemed happy to answer my torrents of questions and basically, if it wasn't for him I would still have been a damage building noobie next era.

So, from personal experience I think subs can be very important to new players.. Without them, as some other posters said, we wouldn't have the players we have today :)
