Hey there, i'm a new player, and have been trying out battledawn for a few days. Is it me, or is this game very difficult to get anywhere now? It seems to me that the game is dominated by large players that have been playing for ages. I followed the tutorial, built structures and a outpost, and some units. It suggested that i start conquering outposts, but everyone around me is massive. I mailed a few alliances around, hoping to get entry and protection, but got no responces. Soon after, someone annihilated my outposts with like ten times my numbers, destroying all my troops. Days later, the same thing happens to my main city. I've continued to log in and build structures, but it seems a tad pointless now. Am i missing something here? Or is this pretty much the game?

Look, it's a lie to say that Battle Dawn doesn't have a huge learning curve, it does. The trick is to keep fighting past that curve and everything will work out in the end.. I HIGHLY recommend that you check out the Adopt-A-Newb Center, newbies can apply for an active veteran of the game to guide them through the tough spells, give you vial tips and maybe even get you an alliance. Thread: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1036Feel free to PM me with any questions and most importantly, don't give up!

You did the first major step by going through the tutorial. A lot of people try battle dawn and skip the tutorial and are completely lost by its complex interface . I recommend you read the battle dawn wiki pages about things you don't get, it provides a lot of helpful information: http://wiki.battledawn.com/index.php?title=Main_Page Also, try sending out a broadcast asking for an alliance that is willing to take in a new player, you might get someone who is willing to help. In order to win battles, your going to need more than the basic unit you get at the start--you'll need to upgrade to range units to get a shot in before your armor units are killed. Build squads with 66% range units and 33% armor units for the best results. The advisors really fail, so take everything they say with a grain of salt . Also, every few months the world will reset and everyone will have to place a new colony. This keeps good players from having a perpetual reign and levels the playing field. Anyways, good luck! I think you'll really like battle dawn when you learn more about it.

Keep hanging in there, BD is an amazingly fun name. And your name reminds me of my ex-gf. Sorry, random thought. Anyway, please join the adopt a newb center, and feel free to message me with anything you want to learn, and I will help you through this game.

Well, we've all been there, surrounded by those who have been more experienced than us in a somewhat futile attempt to eke out a decent mark on the era.
My tip to you is to be friendly and strike deals with them, or stay away from them altogether by staying away from strategic points such as the map corners or islands or even the area around the Admin. Also find those who will help you, either in your server or here on the forums in the form of Adopt-A-Newb or the Player-Made Guides.
Boosters and more experienced players have an advantage in most any game you can think of, and the Admins realize this and try to offset some of them (which receives some flak from those who pay for the privilege) but as always, you will do better if you play your cards right. Good luck!hile633 wrote: will yes you got it all about right in a nut. yes all world are ruled bye big player who act like noobs. it real hard just to mail an alliance and get in unless you mail a small alliance you will get conqed there is not much to be done there unless u join a big alliance. and in my owe time playing this game sic 2008 (only joined forum in 2009) it is useless now aday to mail the admin's in game as there do not give a beep about the game (been trying to report bug's and geting no where with admin there just say tell me next round or just do not read your mail) *Sigh* I guess the bashing's not over yet.

Or if you have a question, post it in the Newbie Question. If you're looking for an alliance, you could go to the Alliance Recruitment forum. Usually a good alliance starts before an era starts. Alliance Recruitment Link:

The game doesn't really start till you have a close bond with your alliance. Not for me at least, I still talk to people who I played my second era with, and knowing some people will lead to knowing more people.. which is why I now have over 500 BD contacts on msn and 150+ contacts on skype (Feel free to add me). Don't give up, try to get a mentor, he/shewill help you get into the game, if not, talk to me and I'll help you! (I've been known to bribe people with tokens to get the people I mentor into good alliances. This was before I became admin, and with my own tokens of coarse! ) But anyway, hang in there. Hopefully a week will be close to nothing of your BD history; hopefully you'll be around in 4 years. Because I can't lie, this game is addicting when you're deep into it.
