How long does it take a unit to recover HP after being firestormed?

An attacking unit of mine was hit on tick 1769 and I thought would get one HP back each tick... but now it's tick 1772 and still at one 1hp?

Does it matter that the unit is in transit or would a unit at a base heal like this too?

Well, your units have to be resting on your colony. I think. Every tick 1 hp recovers.

the units do not have to be on your colony, but they need to be stationary, moving squads don't heal
