BTW if you all build beam armor, then that is okay too. You just need 1 type of armor. No all armor dies first... Weapon used is the 2nd to last detrmining factor on what gets his (last is exp btw) But Ferret does have a point if EVERYONE builds the same armor then your deaths may be spread evenly... or completely random. Say 5 ppl send squads and 10 armor die. Does it automatically split the losses between the 5 guys evenly (2 dead per player) if not that's a bit of a problem. But as always to each his own.

Like Spyda said, armour is destroyed first, before range and damage.

Within any unit type be it Damage, Range or Armor, Explosives die first, Beam die next and Concussive die last. Now if you have all Explosive armor, that's good too. The advantage when you have the same type of armor, is that you take even losses.

use 1/3 concussive armor, 2/3 range of any type
never build damage units
beam is 100% effective against vehicles, 50% effective on tanks, 25% effective on infantry
concussive is 100% effective against infantry, 50% effective against vehicles, and 25% effective against tanks
explosive is 100% effective against tanks, 50% effective against infantry, and 25% effective against vehicles
never mix chassis types
infantry has a bonus against vehicles, so beam infantry is 125% effective against vehicles
vehicles have a bonus against tanks, so explosive vehicles are 125% effective against tanks
