Yeahhhhh, i just got an oil well (yay me) but now i don't know how I'm supposed to defend it, because i know within the next few 10~14 ticks my conqueror(who is gonna conquer me soon) is gonna take it. sooo, any ideas? i knew i shouldn't have taken it, but hey, i couldn't resist the temptation.

Well, either let it go, or if you're willing to gamble units, put about 10 in or so, after the threat has past (and you've hopefully won), then just peel the units back for your own colony's defense.

Alright, you're going to do an incoming scan on the oil well to get a general idea on what you need to defend with, then build to defend. If you don't have enough troops to defend I recommend that you cut your losses and retreat to fight another day ;)

I recommend that you check out the Adopt-A-Noob-Center, there you can find an experienced player to answer all of your questions :)
