I wake up this morning and my heart drops.. I've been conquered.. maybe i shouldn't have given up protection for a few resources, lol.

So, great - 30 ticks in and I figure I've already been knocked out of the game..

BUT, looking into this wiki thing it turns out not all is lost, I'm fairly certain I just pay some sort of tax to the dude who conquered me.. no dramas..

What should I do now?

Is the general strategy to just build up all my structures and resources to then build a great army and liberate myself?

I figure that's probably my best option at the moment seeing as the guy who conquered me has a large amount of units compared to me.. eventually i'll try to liberate myself, but i figure the best bet is to go about my business quietly and then build a large enough army to support a liberation.

Am i crazy or is this a pretty standard way of going about business?

Don't worry. I can guarantee that every player has gotten conquered at some point. What I recommend you do is build your Farm, Metal, and Oil structures to level 5. Scan your conqueror to find out what unit type he is building, then build an army to kill his.

Do you have Skype, MSN, or some method of communication? I would be happy to be your mentor and teach you how to play effectively. We could start a world fresh and I could give you tips along the way.

it just depends if the alliance u r in asuming u have one is very bad then id suggest build ur structures as well as making some armour units after 72 ticks id start to rebel try to get into a good alliance a sub even

thanks for the feedback all, I'm in F1 which is right at the beginning, so plenty of time to build and learn..

will upgrade all my buildings and then look at zerging the conqueror.

I appreciate the offer of some mentoring but for now I'm just going to see how the whole thing works - especially how quickly stuff happens/develops in the world in a 1hr tick world.
