It takes a while to individually place each separate unit into a squad. Is there a way to maybe put an option to place all of the same type of unit into the designated squad? If not, it would be nice to have in the future.

To select alot of units at once Use shift from the top to the bottom of the units on the page. To mark and unmark single units use the Ctrl. You have to click with your mouse while holding down one of these buttons. and this is in the wrong area. It should be in noob questions or vet questions.
