There are many builds that can counter these type of mechs. Such as the common physical builds that are equipped with steel stompers to knock opponents back to a range where lava spray can't be used. Or the legendary shotgun build that also does the same thing but has the potential of high damage.

It is normal to block your way to rank 1 because rank 1 isn't for noobs.

with lavaspray a noob become a pro easily. Nerf now, instantly. Bored of this *CENSORED* item

problem is dual lava sprays

6 rest drain

20 max heat damage

10 cooling damage 88-120 explosive damage

160 heat

for 20 energy and 70 heat

in one turn

if you count the max heat damage that is 180 effective heat

I recently leveled a new account out of boredom to 30 an only received a single common heat mod a low lvl one at that, I consider heat modules almost as rare as mysticals anymore since even my main account rarely gets them, all energy or energy/heat mixed

with it's current stats it shouldn't have 2 range

then again maybe I just can't pull off the right builds -shurgs- but have managed rank 1 but the dual shedders(prenerf, still hard but not overbearing anymore) and lavas are the most common things I see/have trouble with (wish I had a hellfire armor Dx that base cooling)

even if I use ever heat boost mod I have I can't do that build and I spent most my sm since lvl 15 on mod boxes an only gotten 1 rank 8 common heat mod an a few regeneration/cooldown ones, still managed to get to lvl 30 an rank 1 in one day since joining

yet the game finds it amusing two give me sector eye an evil flme in the same box =/ rather have more mods be more common

6 out of the top ten are using it last I checked, usually in pairs

knockback can be countered by, harpoon(heat type +), walking or tele

heat mods are a lot less common then energy mod making this a lot harder for newer/casual players

it is very frustrating game mechanic to just sit there with no choice, least in MechWarrior I can choose to override an blow up from heat damage lol

and I only have 3 pieces out that whole set up despite having 976 pieces of equipment atm

That just means that you aren't worthy/ready to reach rank 1. Lava Sprayers aren't close to OP. It's really easy to counter.
