I suggested this in the Off-Topic boards as an afterthought previously but the recent Wikipedia donation drive inspired me to reiterate it here.

Why doesn't Tacticsoft have a cafepress merch shop where I can buy a hat or a reusable shopping bag?

I am an honest to goodness gamer type person. I line up for stuff, wear glasses, and I like to wear T-shirts of things that I like.

If free advertising that your constituency may be willing to pay for isn't enough of an incentive, then there's also the Neopets model. Associate bonus tokens or linked in-game items with real life merch. Not trading cards - not yet. World of Warcraft couldn't pull off trading cards, but that hat with the exclamation point is verry popular.

Sometimes I don't want to spend real dollars on something invisible and totally consumable (like tokens, or wikipedia staying afloat). If, however, I get a T-shirt, then, I get to support things I like and I also get to be not naked in style.

Please vote up if you like it. Please vote down if this is the most awful thing that could ever happen to this community a la "T-shirts are for bowling teams and total nerds and not real gamers."

I believe they used to have one, or it still exists and is just not advertised.

It would also be cool to associate a t-shirt with in game things. Like a new mech, or a tokens package.

Its kinda childish to sell merchs like toys and all those kiddy stuff. But since the majority of players are kids, perhaps merchandise is okay.
