As Ads stated, the naming methodology used was never intended to be offensive. However, the fact that you find offense via the use of words such as hell and lucifer would mean that you yourself would not be able to attend church or even read the bible... The naming is not meant to encourage people into thinking positive things about hell or Lucifer. Just as the fact that Supermechs was made was not intending to portray the idea that we should create giant mechanized robots to fight and kill one another throughout the world in reality. As a christian myself, I must say that the idea that simply taking offense to the usage of Hell or the name of Lucifer is a bit counter productive. You empower the things you fear by giving into the fear of the name itself (think Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort).
And as for how you've handled the situation here on the forums... If you are going to use your stance as a Christian believer to enforce your position, then I (for this single instance) will also do such.
Quote:
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- Ephesians 4:29
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
- James 3:10
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- Luke 6:45
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
- John 1:8
For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
- James 1:20
