So if you've ever been in rank 3 you'll know the terrible suffering that is getting matched up with a rank 1 which is less than great. What's worse is getting matched up with that rank 1 who wins every match they enter because they are unbeatably strong. You know the guy, Mythic sword, mythic top weapon, and they always have cannon feet for some reason.

Since leveling the playing field by making mythical weapons more available is not something that I can see happening anytime soon. (Sidenote: By the time you reach level 30 and do all the achievements you can buy only 1 Gold box. And you are 10 tokens shy of getting 2 silver boxes)

A Rank 0 would help keep battles fair. Preferably you'd add 3 ranks higher than Rank 1. Maybe Rank 0, Rank S, and Rank SS. These are all just on the spot names. The point is more ranks would make the game more fair.

Oh yes, the matchmaking in this game is down right terrible. Its possible to get two gold items in this game for free by leveling up bonuses and achievements.

For your comment on cannon feet, i have a few words. So basicly cannon feet are the best all around pair of legs equipable. When you add up the total health given and damage producable (non-fusioned) by any pair of legs cannon feet are the clear victor, even when put up against mythical legs. Take Rino Boots for example, 36 hp (health points) plus 80 damage equals a 116 total stat pull. Cannon feet give 72 hp and deal a 65 damage stomp, a total stat pull of 137.

They give the most health by any pair of legs by a landslide, and thats why we equip them. 65 stomp damage un fusioned is also pretty solid.

Back to your suggestion, i think a rank 0 would be funny but cool, maybe a full black skull lined with gold I think rank 1s shouldnt be paired up with newly ranked 3s, even pairing rank 2s up with rank 1s is a strech. Only rank 2s that are almost rank 1 should be paired with rank 1s.

Adding more ranks is one possibility to make it a littlebit more fair.
But why only 3 ranks?
The more you have, the more balanced are the matches if you can only fight mechs in the same rank as you or maybe 1-2 higher or lower.

Add 5, 10 or more Ranks.
Let rank one become rank 10. All rank 1 mechs are then rank 10 and can fight to become better ranks.

The whole point to the ranking system is to find a rank where you are roughly 50/50 wins/losses. At rank 3 you are going to get beaten by most rank 1's. Do you turn around and feel sorry for all the rank 5's that you beat easily? Why is no one on here talking about how unfair it is for rank 5's? What about those poor rank 20's who have to fight nothing but equal or better mechs?

You can add 62,000 more ranks. You are still going to have people two ranks below the top moaning about having to fight the top ranked players.

If you don't want to lose to rank 1's then don't. No one says you have to lose those matches. I know for a fact I have lost matches to rank 2 and 3's before.

Maybe I need to start whining about having to fight the 3 guys ahead of me on the ladder more often than you have to fight them. It's totally unfair that I should have to fight people higher ranked than me. I should only have to fight the people below me on the leaderboard. Make a separate rank for the 3 people ahead of me, please. It's total b/s that I have to fight them.

More ranks means a better diversication between the fighters.

Let's give the players power levels from 1 to 100. (based on their skill, their items, weapons and so on.)

In 20 ranks you have for example
rank 20 = powerlevel 1-5
rank 19 = powerlevel 6-10
...
rank 3 = powerlevel 86 - 90
rank 2 = powerlevel 91 - 95
rank 1 = powerlevel 96 -100

With bad luck, you have to fight as a rank 3 mech with powerlevel 86 a rank 1 mech with powerlevel 100. 15 levels above yourself.


Now adding 10 more ranks:
rank 30 = powerlevel 1 - 3
rank 29 = powerlevel 4 - 6
...
rank 3 = powerlevel 92 - 94
rank 2 = powerlevel 95 - 97
rank 1 = powerlevel 98 - 100

Now the worst thing that can happen to you is to fight a player whichs powerlevel is 8 levels higher than yours.

More rank means a more precisely scale between the fighters.

Even though this isn't how rank works it displays the extra rank concept perfectly. It's not about just more ranks it's about the rank ceiling. You can get to rank 1 with a good bot and a lot of luck but there are a lot of people who have MUCH better bots and they're also rank 1. If you're honest there's a pay-to-win aspect of Super Mechs and that gets really obvious when you fight rank 1's. Having a higher rank ceiling would push pay-to-win bots all the way to the top and away from weaker freeplay bots. This would also help you keep a more steady rank, instead of me fluxing all the way from rank 3 to rank 5 and back up to 2, rank would stay more in skill and build level.

I totally agree i was ay rank 5 when a 880 health player got matched up against me i was like WTF how are you here your not at level 5 or 6 it was just totally messed up and i keep getting matched up with mythical item players as i never win them!I so wish they add more ranks and more barriers for the low level players.and maybe even make it harder to get legendary pr epic items like really a level 16 getting a 360 health mech i got a 360 health mech in level 16 and had 3 level 30 armor plates i was OP i feel i was being unfair as if i was bully to the other poor guys with low powers items its so unfair and so wrong.This just goes to show how unfair super mechs can be and how OP thing level 15 or even level 16 players can get and be unfair.And i totally agree with you.

I have to partially agree with the person saying it wouldn't make a difference making more levels, and kinda have to dissagree. It would of course in some cases make more accurate matchups as it's more spread out. I won't say I'm 200% up to date on the matchmaking system code, but what I know is that it does try to match you with your level first, it does not aim to match people up with level 3s. From my understanding it aims to match you up with people on the same level, with as many stars as you. So in that regards there are A LOT of levels already. But the same thing happens as if you added 9001 extra levels.. they don't find anyone with that exact match and expands the search. This part is a bit speculative, but I do think it also looks at winstreak/losestreak. Which does make it more likely for a rank 3 to be matched up with rank 1 if rank 1 have lost a lot in a row and rank 3 have win a lot in a row. If that's a good mechanic or not I'm not 200% sure. It does check if the rank 3 player is ready for leveling up, and rank 1 if he still deserves to be rank 1.

The concern really isn't that Rank 3s get matched up with Rank 1s the concern is that since Rank 1 is the cap for highest level there's a lot of people who have incredibly good bots do to mythics or very good strategy and those people have capped out and instead of being the 1-3 ranks higher they could be they're stuck at rank 1 and a lot of times since it's just 2 ranks away people will get matched up with these capped out players and get absolutely slaughtered. Adding levels will make match ups more accurate because there will be less people who cap out at Rank 1 and then there will more people who get matched up with these capped out people so the ranks will start to spread out and staying in your rank will be easier.
