Hi,

I had an idea for a new energy weapon. I do not use energy builds myself (I use either heat or physical) but I think the level 30's should have a new energy drain weapon, because the most energy-draining weapon at the moment is Call Of Lightning, which does 69-99 damage, not good if you have 0 energy. So I thought about this weapon:

Ultra Drain
Level 30, Legendary
No Damage
85 Energy Drain
1 Use Per Battle
85 Weight

This would not make it too OP, remember C.O.L does 119-149 dmg. :)

New weapons need to be designed by staff so the balances are correct.

Are you serious about this?

You really want nrg-mechs that can suck away all your nrg in one round?

Deep Drain + Ultra Drain + Drone = -157 Nrg
CoL + Ultra Drain + Drone = -167 Nrg

Or let's not focus the drain, let's see the dmg:

Let's say it's turn 3 and you have drained your enemy in further turns down to zero. After his regain he is by 50 nrg. (what is almost average regain)

Now you finish him with:

Ultra Drain + CoL + Drone = 250 - 265 dmg in one round, without further resistence drain or nrg-dmg-templates...

Sounds like fighting a physical mech with an Antares drone.

At least the physic don't drain all your nrg. So if you survive, you can strike back.

But here?
If you're weapons need nrg you're helpless.

It's supposed to be that physics do the most damage, cause that's all what they do.
Heaters steal actions by forcing you to cooldown your mech, NRG-mechs kripples you by draining needed nrg for weapons, (maybe shield) hook, teleport, drone. If they kripple you and do the same dmg as a physic, so why should anyone play a physic?

If this weapon was say, 65kg, it might be implemented.

It needs to be hella heavy to compensate for its ridiculous energy drain ;)
But besides that i think its alright, mostly likely because my main isnt a phys and doesnt need energy to carry out its primary functions.

-Added a poll-

I like the idea. I wouldn't worry too much about the balancing of the item, the fundamental idea is there, just drain with no damage. Would be interesting to see. I wouldn't worry about trying to balance the item, guessing numbers never really hits the mark.
