I find the current legendary shotgun ridiculous for what a shotgun should be.
I call this weapon, "The Hammer".

Consumes 15 Ammo
Incurs 15 heat per usage.

Damage of 5*15 pellets minimum.
Damage of 8* 15 pellets maximum.
Effective Damage Range Opponent has no resistance (0 armor) 75-120
Effective Damage Range Opponent has Multi-resistance (10 armor) 15-15
Effective Damage Range Opponent has Negative resistance (-5 armor)-->
->75-120+75
Total Damage=(Base Damage)+(-negative armor*Pellet Count)
Base Damage=(Pellet Damage-Resistance level)-->Calculate this 15 times and add together.
Pellet Damage=5-8(Random number between 5-8)
Having any shield will greatly reduce the damage. Works best on non-shielded targets.
So my idea is that shotguns should punish lightly armored targets but be useless on armored targets. Close to how actual shotguns works. With possible resistance drain nerf, it could make this shotgun use-able and not too broken. If this were to exist now it would be overpowered.

This is a very good idea! It implies some strategy too, before you can efficiently use the shotgun, you must first lower opponent's resistance or even bring the shield down, I can already imagine a build.

Yeah! This is a really good idea. I hate getting smashed by shotguns that will deal like 150 damage.. or further. Ugh! Yeah, 2 words. Good Idea

I still have never used a shotgun :lol:

But I hate them most of the time honestly. Though, I find it hilarious when they hit me and do like, 20 dmg. The range for damage varies so much. But i've never seen it do like, 50 dmg. It's either extremely low or extremely high.

Anywho, I do like this idea. Seems more structured to me and as stated, adds a bit more strategy to it's use rather than a simple, "it can do a lot of dmg"

Josh, you think doing 20 damage is hilarious? Heck! I fought a player, he used a shotgun, and dealt 1 DAMAGE! (too bad I didn't get a screenshot.. :()

Loving this idea, but would like it for shotguns in general! Add another strategy of victory. :)
