it punishes the people who are learning the game. if the build obviously outmaches mine, I quit, sure. a lot of people think this way. no need to punish them. just give those who get quit on some small consolation. like 10 XP. if I had 10 XP for all those quits, why, I'd be lvl 108! or a small amount of credits, whatever

I think they should be punished after 3 quits, I see so many quitters, but on the other hand, it helps my ratio improve. 30% of this would be from quitters (this was about a week ago, its different now)

RupertAngier wrote: wow nice.. we should battle sometime gecko:) but quitting should not be rewarded and should be discouraged in a way like this imo I am only level 33 now, I will be happy to battle in a private battle which won't give me any more losses. I play at matchmaking level 20 with an interesting build I created my self.

Rather than punish quiters, I think its better to reward the one quit upon, as Deflowerer said. But I dont think it should be as low as 10xp or 10 credits.
I have two suggestions, the first (and IMO best) I suggest either give 20% of xp and credits for first turn quit, then 40% on second turn, 60% on third and 80% on fourth - as it is now but shifted forward to give 20% rather than zero on first turn.
My reasoning; I suspect the zero on first turn rule is to try to reduce farming of one's alt account, where a player simply quits his alt every time for fast free credits and xp. But there are alt-farmers (evidenced by the replay list) and they dont use the 'quit on first turn' nor will they do if its worth 20% of win value. What they do is simply create a very very weak mech and kill it with 1or 2 shots in the first turn - thereby getting the full reward for a win. Keeping the zero reward for a 1-turn quit does not avoid this cheap method and the only reward is a place on the rankings - which is so bugged as to be virtually ignored by many/most players.
Second option simply disable the quit buton until the second turn of the match.
So I voted 'tweak' as I dont think we should punish the quitter, rather reward the other player.

No one like the free wins? I kid. I agree with Gecko. This deterrent can be easily loopholed. Plus, sometimes I see quitting has its merits. For instance, I often fight certain people 6 or 7 times in row, and because they are several levels below me (if only foootiss1's 29 vs my 33 fights were still available; I loved watching the sunk costs ensue via kits ), they do not stand a chance. Thus, sometimes they quit 4 or 5 times in a row subsequently. Could you blame them? They are simply outclassed – unless I have major connection issues, the game is incredibly buggy, or they exploit – I win by default. Thus, this could punish players unfairly that are quitting after tirelessly slugging it out.
