That is not entirely fair in my opinion, a new player may do well at lower levels and then when the come up to 21+ range get destroyed. They should not get less of a reward because they did well against normal players and struggle against farmers.

I cant see penalizing a higher ranked individual for winning. Esp in the case of a #1 ranked player. Who is he going to fight and not be above in ranking? If he wins, his rewards have to stay normal where as if the underdog wins, thier rewards can be increased...
If his SMC is decreased because he is fighting lower ranked opponents, he may not even recover the cost of kits he may have to use...

True, I do not think you should penalized from fighting either, but I do believe there should be a reward for beating a better adversary.
Oh, and for Korupt, I think the SIZE of the win-loss record would be taken into account. Lets not think of the devs as dumb, they know how to program simple formulas, and this is not very complicated (compared to many of the other requests on the forums).
edit: also Korupt, I highly suggest you look at 00Nick00's link of the ELO ranking system. The devs have multiple ways of going about this. I think the best thing we could do on this thread is debate the value/merit of giving a higher reward for the underdog, the way of doing this is probably something that will be discussed amongst all the devs.

I understand that it may not be that high of a priority, but I think that it would improve the gaming experience for beginning players, which, in turn are more likely to hang around. And more players online makes the game better for everyone. If the rewards are lower, it may make high ranked players think twice about using a kit, but is that a bad thing? They would be forced to decide whether their ranking is more important than a bit of cash. I'm not sure how this could lead to abuse. I'm not suggesting the money from losing fights should ever be more lucrative than winning. And you only get paid to loose if you stick around to the end.

I don't want higher ranked players to regret using kits....However, I want lower level players to get more sm from battles if they vs a higher ranked opponent. Maybe if an ELO system is used, Make it so players don't actually start to gain ELO until they reach level 25 ( so 25 and lower will be unkrank players). So, if someone who has ELO vs a player with no rank at all, they wont gain any ELO. Which in turn means no bonus credits based on the ELO for either player.

So a level 24 wins against a much better mech and would not get any extra SMC?

Makes sense, but seems a little harsh on new players that do well. Not unfair, just tough love I guess.
